    Hey what's up GTP'rs,

FYI, I'm new to the car mod game. I have an 04 Pontiac Grand Prix Supercharged... What do you guys recommend for headers?? I bought some Speed Daddy Headers and ran into a huge problem with the crossover pipe angled wrong. Crossover pipe will only fit in the back header if the transmission dipstick tube is off. Tried to buy a Flex Transmission dipstick but that didn't even fit into the transmission dipstick hole ha. Also even with the crossover pipe in on front and back header the front header won't connect to the front cylinder head............... Already have 3.5 pulley, CAI, Oversized Aluminum Radiator, 10.5 wires, LQ4 MAF, Throttle body turn down pipe, CNC Ported Heads, #130 valve springs and 47KV ignition coils. I guess I probably purchased the wrong yr header, IDK. Any thoughts?

Also is anyone could chime in on this dum mistake I've made. I mixed up the Pushrods and Rocker Arms [emoji58][emoji58]. Can I still use them and how long before or if I'll mess my build up?

    HELP!? haha

sometimes you get a bad cross over pipe, it happens sometimes.

but before we take that route, loosen up the rear header bolts cross over in place with front header on the pipe, i left mine pointing up, then twisted the cross over till the header lined up when i dropped it down ( turned it on the pipe) to the head, once its close you can use a mallet to beat on the pipe to help persuade it in place.

if you didnt make room for the rear o2 now is the time, put the o2 in the rear header, mark where its gonna hit, remove the header and massage the fire wall with a hammer to make room.

not sure if this link will work, pb bs, but its the only clear pic of my header cross over i have. the hump looks to be up high. also sd headers.

Thanks for the reply! I see exactly what you mean in your pic. I'll try all the above when I get a chance late today. My EGR port is all in the way. Sounds like loosening the back will help though.

Yea ha, that me be my case to take a trip to th muff shop..

I used my original Pushrods and Rocker Arms from my original cylinder heads. Replaced my old cracked cylinder heads with the New CNC Ported heads. Later realizing from reading I had to make sure I put the Pushrods and Rocker Arms in the same holes/place where I got them. I had them all mixed up and scattered. Read that they ware particularly where they sit. Concerned about that

its not all that important, as long as the tips were all still in round. in a perfect world, yeah you'd want to keep em matched up.

i got a set of yt 1.95 rockers used, all push rods were mixed up, just installed em. no issues like 6 years later? and ive had em off and back on since then for my own engine swap. rods all looked fine still. i did keep them matched up this last time tho, made a card board box holder.

Ok, solid! Sounds like I'm in get shape. Eventually I'll be working my way up to a new Cam Shaft, Lifters, Rockers, Pushrods etc soon. Since you had no problems yrs later, I'll be fine for a few months. Thanks!

I ran into the same issue when installing my speed daddy's. I loosened everything and used a long pry bar and dead blow to get it lined up. It sucked while doing it but looking back it wasn't that bad.

Might have to use my elbow grease for sure ha.. What year and make do you have?

Did more research and seen some pics earlier and had me thinking I ran into a typo on fit for my year.

The first pic said 97-04 when I bought them. Same exact one's but in most descriptions that sale them says (97-03) and I have an 04 Grand Prix

And the 2nd pic shows a different shape on the crossover pipe saying "made for 97-05" would seem like that would be the one I might need but than again, who knows until you try to put it on your car.

theres not one difference between the years, 97-08 or when ever they quit making the 3800 fwd cars.

a crap cross over pipe from a china made product is the issue.

Definitely taking these to a muff shop.. Transmission dipstick tube is in the way now. I guess that's what happens when trying to go the cheap route huh haha

2000 up you need to bend it a little bit or get a 98-99 tube.

97 gtp. I actually made a thread on here (when it was .net) about how f'd up the crossover tube was on the headers I received.

Still not terrible for $200 chinesium headers lol
