Hey guys I'm thinking about going to an intercooler, but the question is will pass smog . Are there any of you guys here in Cali that are running an intercooler and still able to pass smog?

Lol. You'll pass smog. I'm sure smog refers to exhaust and intercooling does nothing to the exhaust

Yes that's true lol, but the thing I'm concerned about is the visual inspection. For the exhaust part, I demodded to the oem down pipe...... passed the smog test....... and then went right back to the catless downpipe lol.

A intercooler isn't going to cause you to fail a smog inspection.. It has nothing to do with smog.

I have emissions to pass in the county I live in. Although it's a joke. I passed without a cat and they look to make sure you have one. Lol

I have talked to a state ref here in cali. You can add a intercooler, cam it, drop pulleys, bigger injectors, e85 he told me he doesn't care, just as long as nothing messing with emissions is touched.
you can have headers and intake with the carb stickers and you will be fine.
Just don't mess with emission things like the egr or if you do put it back on when smog is due.

I have a vs cam build, ported heads, gen v, N* tb, slp headers and Borla catback, Prj wires will be turning for e85 soon and adding my intercooler right now as well.
