Personally I put a large flat blade in a tooth and did it that way.

very few here would have bought the tool ... it's too easy to save the cash
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

    id think so.

funny story, bill called me up while i was installing my tc bolts. im like bill, whats this sound???? as i used a screw driver to move the flex to the next bolt hole. he knew the sound lol

screw driver works just fine, its gonna take a bit longer but its a tool you already have. take the plugs out, it spins super easy.

if you have air you dont need to hold the flex at all. get to zapping it. you do need a strong gun tho, that bolts super tight.

that tool your looking at is for turning the engine over to install tc bolts easier, not to anchor the crank.

im still trying to tell you dont need that tool. just a good strong air gun will take the crank bolt off with out holding the flex plate. and you said you have a air gun.

the balancer will also come off with out the flex being held. been there, done it more then once.

if your using a breaker bar you'll need to hold the flex. why the red neck bolt removal works so damn nice.

So how do you hold it to torque it back down, it is a stretch to yield bolt and so is the cam bolt; which I am sure it will yield some resistance.

If you used something like this would there be an interference point? they use the torque converter drain hole for this tool on a duramax> http://www.ebay.com/itm/SP-Tools-GM-...-/162008234946

put the air gun on there and rip the bolt, off, same thing when it goes back on, zap it back on, re use the bolt.

you dont have a duramax lol nor do you have a tc drain hole.

I will admit to having the Kent Moore tool. I found a good deal on it and keep my cars long enough I figure it will be worth having in the long run. When I did my harmonic balancer things worked out that I did not need it and was able to have a prybar used instead which was easier. I plan to keep the tool because I know there will be a time when I need it. If you keep your eyes peeled I occasionally come across one on ebay or somewhere else like that pretty cheap.
