2001 GTP...my seat bottom cushions are getting pretty flat. Any suggestions about replacing or adding to the cushion for some increased ass comfort?

go to a junk yard, find a car with a better seat bottom, take the foam, and swap your out.

Grab passenger side cushions. The realize you have a GP and 97-03 GP seats are some of the worst in the world.

No doubt....my wife always complains about how hard the passenger seat is. I like the way the car drives, so I don't notice.

    Question!

Will 1999 buick regal seats fit in my 2000 GP? There's a pretty nice black set at the junk yard.

im pretty sure ive seen people say they fit. they are more comfortable then a gp seat.

never saw black leather in a regal, only the dark and light grey, and tan i think.

newer the better too, my 98 seats were shot, the driver seat cushion and cover were shot, pass side not to bad. picked up a full set of 01 seats, it was like driving a new car lol i sat at least 3 inches higher.

Thanks, yea I did just do a search and found they do fit without modifying anything. I believe they were dark grey then. Not sure how they would look, or what the junk yard would want for them. Also not sure if the seats are heated or not. I'm going to find all of this out in the next few days. It was cold today and didn't hang around looking at the cars too long lol.

i got newer 01 seats for my regal, my old were light gray, and the new are dark gray, the contrast difference looks pretty good, after a few weeks i dont even notice it any more.

the rear seats may fit your car too. if you got the whole set that would tie it all together.

to find out if the seats are heated, in the console between the cup holder and the shifter is a plate with the trac off button, if it has heated seats the switches will be on that plate. like in this pic.

Pardon my stupidity but now I think it wasn't a regal after all, LOL! The car was completely covered in snow so I didn't get a good look at it, didn't pay attention I guess. The seats looked a little different and had different head rests.

    Bumping this back up.

I have an extra passenger seat that I want to take the foam out of and use it in my driver's seat. How do I go about doing this? I searched but couldn't find any info on how people actually did theirs.

you need to take the seat out of the car, then under the lower corner plastic is a bolt or 2 on each side that hold the back on. un plug any heater cords and pull it up, it slides right off the bottom.

now with the top off you can take the lower cushion off.

not sure if you can swap foam from pass to driver seat tho. while its a part, look over the seat bottom, its just wire strung across the bracket, and they break, and make it feel like your sitting in a hole if broken.

new to you junk yard foam and seat bottom may be the best deal. or pony up at the dealer. im sure they can get it if they dont have it in stock.

I don't see why the passenger and driver foam is any different? I'll pull apart the extra passenger seat when I find time and report back.

I'd just like to have some more comfort/support for my driver seat and this method would be free if it's as easy as a swap.

Well I pulled the foam out of my extra passenger seat. The back did not just slide out like you said, i took the 2 bolts out but theres a spring and other hardware riveted to it. I proceeded by cutting the leather because I could not tell how it comes off. The bottom was a bit easier, but I feel it's going to be harder on the driver's seat.

All in all, forget this, I'd rather find a new seat to replace it.

Got some good foam, who wants to buy it?

Its not that easy. Im doing it right now as we speak. I got the whole seat apart and cant figure out how the lower leather section comes off. I removed the foam from the top and bottom half so i guess that is as far as i need to go for a foam swap so ill just go that far with it. Still frustrated on how the lower leather section even comes off, It's wrapped around at the corners and there is not even any velcro to remove it, its just stuck on there and the only way i can see to possibly remove it is to remove more hardware like the springs but they are riveted in. I gave up lol
