Northern Virginia had a lot of rain Sunday night. I hadn't been in my car since this morning, and this afternoon, I discovered the rear passenger floor was damp, likely from the rain. I park the car on the street, and that end was the "lowest" point of the car. The trunk is dry, the front passenger floor is dry, and under the passenger seat it's dry. I know I can just get some cheap carpet padding from the hardware store, but what about carpet to fit the car? If I can suck most of the water out of the current carpet and replace the pad, I may just live with it, unless it starts to smell...

The carpet and pad are molded together in GPs, don't know about the Impala. There is a company out there that sells our carpet after market and I believe the two or four door carpet is the same for the GP. Can also get Impala replacement carpet from them too.

If this is on the GP you've got 3 options.
    1. dry out and hope it doesn't smell
    2. buy used carpet from someone that wrecked their car
    3. http://www.stockinteriors.com/AutoCa...23&ModelId=386 or some other vendor

Looks like its going to be new carpet. Only the front driver's side was not wet. I had a Mercury Tracer a few years ago, and it had separate pieces. So I compared it to that. I suspect my Impala is the one piece like the GPs.

Anyway, does anyone know the color interior on the Grand Prix? I'm thinking either the Graphite or Agate. It's didn't look black, even though the car is 8 years old...

Good catch; that was probably it, since the seats were dry I know it wasn't an open window/door or sunroof. Similar to the problem on the Impalas with the leaky passenger seat and a bad seal where the filter is.

I tore the carpet out in pieces instead of the "nice way" so I have to replace it anyway. Not a big deal though. I have a few other parts to order from Ed Morad, so I might check with him for the carpet.
