I do NOT condone street racing, but I just had to
I was minding my own business, coming back from Sherman Tx (30 min drive) about 9:30ish. I tend to cruise about 70-75ish (I know in Tx its 65 @ night... who cares). So I'm going over and just before I get to the Tx/Ok border I get notice some tail lights approaching me, but I can't make out if its a cop or not. Oh well... keep on trucking, out of jurisdiction across the bridge. Well into Oklahoma Im still at 75 and the car finally catches up to me, but doesn't pass. I can tell the lights aren't right for a charger or caprice (typical cop cars in the area) so Im not worried, maintain speed and keep going. As I pass cars he follows but will not pass but its just a couple lengths behind me (not so close I need to be concerned, but enough to make me curious).
Now after 10-15 miles we approach the casino off the highway, Choctaw Resort & Casino, has its own stop light. We stop and he stays behind, after a green I go, as usual I roll about 1/2 throttle and get back up to speed (bad for gas mileage, but nice to hear the whine) As I get back to 70 I let off and notice that this wierdo is still behind me. I figure maybe hell finally go around me and its like he can sense it because that's what he does. As he gets beside me, I notice the passenger turns on the overhead light in the car. Both are looking at me, I giggle and GF is like
are they doing.
About that time I notice the car burst forward, about as well as a late 90s FORD ESCORT can when floored by Fred Flintstone. I laugh and shes like OMG Really Dude? I figure I have 2 more miles before my exit, so what the hell, and floor it. Mind you by the time I laugh, she says OMG, and the car downshifts and makes boost, his car is a length ahead of me, I can see the rear bumper and I realize for certain that its an Escort. I shut the car down at 93mph and Im sitting about 5-6 lengths ahead of em. Get to my exit and they haven't even gotten close to me again.
Again, hate to have to school dumb-dumbs but they begged for it, and the look as I flew by them was PRICELESS.
Nothing special, I thought it was funny, figured Id share in last nights laughter
