My car is basically stock and the Mustang was a 5spd, and clearly had a full exhaust system. I'm not sure if he had anything else done to it......

So this guy was driving that Mustang around town like he was trying to show off. I could tell by his driving he would be up for a race! I followed him around for a bit and he got the point so he heads to "a legal racing area". My engine was pretty well heat soaked from in town driving and sitting at lights but he pulled onto the drag strip and slowed to 10mph. 3 honks by him and we are off. I pull about a half car length lead on the kick (thanks V6 S/C tq!) By 50mph he had about 1 car on me and at 90 he had about 3 cars on me. Again, not sure what all he had done to his car, but i'm guessing other than the exhaust work, prolly just a CAI or something. I don't think I fared too bad being that i'm stock and had a heat soaked motor. His was too but forced induction likes a cool supercharger! Anyways, I lost by 3 cars and didn't expect to win, but I was satisfied. Just wanted to do a baseline test! When I get my pulley, CAI, Ubend and cat delete I'm going to hussle him to try to win some money cause his passenger was flaunting it that they were winning. haha. Oh and by the way, the timing system was down at the track, so no time sheets! LOL!!!

Gonna be funny when he beats you even worse because of the pulley drop with no flow mods.

haha couldn't have said it better. KR city!

The 3.8 is more than enough with decent exhaust mods. After that think about pulleys. That being said. DP, 3.4, stock gearing, intake, and a few other things I pulled on an 03 GT by about a half a car. Both of us spinning from a dig.. Roll racing is for losers haha

how many more flow mods do you need other than CAI, cat, ubend and resonator delete to run a 3.4? My regal didn't have any kr problems with the same mods I planned on doing to the gtp. I guess this is where i'm told I got lucky?

would it help if i run 87 octane gas? Oh wait, thats what you are stuck with in Cali! well maybe its 89! I'm not gonna argue about this. I've dealt with forced induction ever since I was 16. Heat soaking, quality of fuel, ambient temps vs. intake temps, etc. play a roll in kr and HP. You can run 89 octane in Cali with ambient temps of 60* and be the same way off as I would be running 93 octane fuel in 80* ambient tems, but when you heat up you engine from idling and messing around in traffic it equals kr and or loss hp. Heat is the enemy. When you have to get rid of less heat, you need less flow mods. When you need to get rid of more heat, you need more flow mods. My MR2 made 327RWHP on 93 octane with 0*kr in the morning at 60* ambient at 18 psi vs. 3* kr in the afternoon 90* ambient temp where it made 320RWHP. My MR2 has all the flow mods possible. Head work, cams, headers, exhaust, SMIC with 8" SPAL fan and CAI. All I needed was more boost and less heat. The problem was heat. I had been driving the car in the afternoon where I had not drivin it in the morning other than to warm it up a little for the dyno run. Nothing was changed on the car! It was a dyno day shootout in Norwalk, Ohio. My GTP the way it is, pretty much stock, you run it after dickin around in town like I did its kind of a turd. Drive it down the highway in the 50* night for 10 miles, slow down and hammer it, its impressive. It's not the mods, it's how they are managed. Well if I'd put headers on the GTP I might get to idle and play in the city heat for 10 extra minutes dickin around in traffic before heatsoaking! 'Nuff said!

Wait a minute, I'm in a perfect scenario here, or a really good one......... 150* road temp(sticky tires, 20* ambient temps, 110 octane fuel! Damn I've got it good!)

um ok? Oh and heads up, 91 octane is the highest over here 87 would blow even a stock GTP after a while.

By all means though, make jokes and drop to a 3.4. You obviously know so much more than us so go for it dude. Don't say we didn't tell you so if or when it blows.

I have no respect for them when they talk to people this way! bluegtp91's reply was instant bashing instead of suggesting some things I should do to the car so I don't hurt the car. He coulda just said "before you go and put that small of a pulley on the car and damage the engine, you might want to think about adding headers and maybe a cam along with a full exhaust system." I might have learned something from him, but the only thing I learned is that there are a lot of scrote bags on this forum. Instead of helping the other members, they just bash them by telling them how stupid they are. No respect for people who talk like that.

They kind of remind me of these jackasses!....

btw, My car is scheduled in on tuesday for cat, ubend and resonator delete and an FWI is on the way along with the 3.4. What else would I need to run the pulley? I run 93 octane gas in it ever since i got the car. Current mods are in my sig. I would appreciate knowledge from anyone! Please just don't slam on me. Lots of people run 3.4s with what i'm doing to mine and some have probs and some don't. Any suggestions which boltons would work? I don't mind to do the mods it takes, but don't want to waste money doing more than I need. Thanks!

READ learn SHOW SOME RESPECT for who WROTE it
    http://www.grandprixforums.net/f81/s...car-17482.html

yet seeing as your a "pro" (" I've dealt with forced induction ever since I was 16. Heat soaking, quality of fuel, ambient temps vs. intake temps, etc. play a roll in kr and HP. ")
you should know way better than to run anything under 91 octane
btw a tune should be before a cam

I was being sarcastic! The only fuel I have ever put in this car is 93 octane from BP cause most places only have 92 around here. This is what i'm talkin about. BlueGTP91 could have posted that link instead of bashing me. Do you agree?
