    Hello Experts,

I need your suggestion on replacing the wheel bearings on my car.

My car is 2008 Grand prix with 56K miles on it.

I have been hearing a wierd sound in my car for the last 3-4 months and finally I got a quote today From MIDAS today and these guys inspected my vehicle and said my front wheel bearing has to be replaced.

The quote they gave me is 460$ (parts) + 180$ (labor) + applicable taxes.

I guess they have quoted lot expensive. Can someone please let me know how much roughly does it cost to replace the wheel bearings?? and I am on extended warranty with GM for 95K miles. so, does the wheel bearings cover under warranty ?? Please help me with your advice.

    Thanks,
    Magickid

Midas is raping you at that price. You can get a Timken or SKF hub for a little over $100 and it takes less than an hour to change. The dealer doesn't even stick it to you that bad. If you can't do it yourself, go to another garage and make sure they use a quality hub like Timken or SKF. If not, you will be lucky to get a year out of it.
