I am currently running BF Goodrich Sport Comp 2 as my summer tires in 245/50R16. They are ok. I dont have traction in first gear and my traction control really pedals it out. I am thinking about switching to the Nitto Nt555r in 245/50R16. Hoping to get some feedback on how they do as a summer d/d tire.

Do you get more traction on the street with them? How bad is the trade off for wet weather? Can you launch harder or get better traction in the 60 ft? (on the street w/o cable mod)

Sometimes I wonder if the lack of traction is due to the front suspension unloading on launch and no amount of tire will help (can't exactly do the cable mod on the street).

i got a pair of them i use only at the track, i did drive on them for a week tho, they stick better then a street tire for sure. but you can still spin em if you want to. 4 of these mounted up im sure would make the car stick and handle so much better for daily use. cant see em lasting all to long tho, maybe 10,000 miles, very soft tire.

at the track it was the last open day of the year, it was 45º or less out all day, i was breaking free every run, like everyone else tho, so i didnt feel all that bad.

ill be back at the track in a few weeks once it warms up more. they opened today, but were shut due to the storm the other day taking out their power. and im sure it was under 45º, the track temp limit.

On the street do they spin a little then grab and go or is it more like I can roast them if I want. Did you drive any in the rain? I only drive 5-10k a year. I swap all seasons in the winter and summer tires obviously in the summer. My work issues me a car I drive everyday so the GP doesn't get a lot of miles. Im not too concerned about lifespan. My tires rot out before wear out. But I hate to spend a bunch on tires to swap out and get only a little improvement in traction.

i can give it way more gas vs a st tire when taking off from a dead stop trying to cross a busy street. they squeal good in st, the nittos just rip and go.

but liek i said, you can rip em free still.

rain they felt ok, only drove once in rain, i dont recommend pushing them, but for normal driving they would be fine. i held back for a bit till i built up some trust in them, not knowing what to expect.
