So I was dumb and didn’t research before I bought the new hpt, still have my old one though it’s not for sale.

Tried scanning for the first time with it today and noticed the knock retard doesn’t log. It shows up as supported but after I connect it disappears. Is this just a 4.0 software problem, anyone else having this issue? Am I limited to the amount of things I can log at once?

Also having some trouble with the ltft + stft table logging, I know I had a similar problem with this in 3.6 so I’ll look into that a little more. But basically it won’t show up in all the boxes, just the first box.

Im kinda HPT dumb so bare with me.... But do you mean logging as in the line graph on the bottom of the chart in the upper right hand side... Mine is v4.x.x and it shows up and records fine in the line graph on the bottom.

mine did this top row or top left corner bull sh it too. had to change the bottom line in property to bar. grams, kpa none of that crap would work right.

knock retard has to be brought into the pid list on the left side pop out window. car must be running and plugged in and scanning to import those items.

FWIW, a lot of ppl on LS1tech and HP forums are having issues with HPT MPVI2 so you're not alone. a lot of angry threads were posted on the HP forums from what I read.

Since you have your old one.. why not grab a copy of the older software and use that until it gets sorted out?

Bill that’s what I plan to do for now.

Car is running and connected. When I add knock retard it shows it is supported and adds it to the channels list. The when I hit record knock and a few others disappear from the list. Stop recording and it shows up again.

im running the latest version 4. what ever on the older standard wired type hpt. its all working fine.

i bought a new lap top for tuning and had to copy all my crap over in the new scanner set up. saving the lay out and re using it on a new lap top dont save all the pid's in the list when you transfer over. or the maths for your wideband. had to re do all that manually.

I've been having problems with mine as well. I was messing around with it today and downloaded the beta version and tried that. It updated the firmware again and my problems seem to have gone away. It worked with the old stable release as well which seems to confirm my suspicion that it's in the unit not the software.

yes i saved all the config files and histograms. Everything works fine when i use 3.2, thats the last version i had downloaded, with my old wire. i dont think the new one will work with anything older than 4 but im going to give it shot. will try 4.0 with the old cable and see what happens too.

anyone have a copy of 3.6 or whatever the last version was? is it in the dropbox?

I checked the dropbox and it has 2.2 in it. I think I have 3.6, but it's on my tuning computer. pm me your email and I'll email it to you when I get a chance

    Thanks

I tried the MPVI2 with 3.2 and it won’t recognize it. So I have 3.2 loaded for scanning and 4.1beta for editing.

pretty sure you have to use 4.0 with the new interface. theres a new update out, its supposed to be less buggy, scanner works better im hearing on the fb group. its a firmware update.

Did this ever get resolved? I am looking for HPT but heard there were some issues. Is the new one good to go now?

It's pretty solid for the most part.

I stuff I see people having issue with is when using it in the newest of new supported vehicles and vehicles that require a internet connection to read/write everything everytime.
