Hello, as most of you know, I just picked up a hptuner pro. Unfortunately I have not been successful even after watching video tutorials and posts on hp tuner's forum and self help, so I hoped someone here could shed some light on the matter.

The car has been brought to operating temperature, the parking brake is on, my foot is on the brake pedal, dtcs all cleared, revved to around 5400rpm and the fuel did not "cut off". No status indicator on the page at all either.

That being said, I have my codes for the rear o2 sensor disabled, and my egr deleted. No codes for either but the EVAP, EGR, and O2 tests are all incomplete, so I'm not sure if that would keep it from running.

Any help would be appreciated. I'm just scared sh*tless revving my engine that high in park anyhow!

Yep. I'm in park. Not sure about the limiter. Had a buddy load a tune that he liked... lol

So is the rev limiter what does the fuel cutoff?

The engine won't come apart, just keep going until you actually hit the rev limiter. It's somewhere around 5,500rpm or so when the case learn is active. Otherwise the normal rev limiter should be about 4,000rpm if memory serves me right.

I just gradually rev it up to cut-off and let it fall to idle. Though I did this through my aeroforce scangauge because HPT didn't always work with the older 2.24 software back 4-5 years ago. Never tried it with the current 3.6 build.

The readiness monitors should not matter, those will all take several drive cycles to either pass or fail depending on what they are.

Checked the limiter and it's set to 4005 for park or neutral, and I hit nearly 6000 rpm. didn't feel fuel pressure drop or anything. When you press the crank learn on button, no status shows up and it just stays lit nomatter what until you turn it off. Really weird... anyone have a video of what it looks like on our cars? I've seen a few others but they look different. I'm stumped.

The rev limiter should be that 4,000 but when you click the case learn it will let it go all the way to red line.

You also can not be running a scan when you attempt a case learn. You can connect to the vehicle to allow the special function tab to work but you can not be scanning. It's not going to prompt anything when you do it using HP Tuners from the sounds of it. If it works it will allow you to rev past the normal park/neutral rev limiter. You'll hit the limiter and it will sync itself on the way down to idle.

If you are throwing no codes for the cam/crank, there technically isn't a reason to perform the case learn.

Other scan tools like a GM tech 2 or MDI and even the aeroforce will function different. Like the AF will tell you what to do and complete and exit

I used this method and it worked. Keep your foot on the brake pedal the whole time!!

    # CASE Learn: To use the CASE learn function please follow these steps:

    1. Put the vehicle into park (auto) or neutral (manual).
    2. Turn off all accessories and A/C.
    3. Turn the vehicle off.
    4. Apply the parking brake.
    5. Press the brake pedal. Keep the brake pedal depressed during the entire procedure. REQUIRED for successful test completion
    6. Start the vehicle and let it idle.
    7. Press Begin.
    8. Gradually rev the vehicle to fuel cutoff (around 4000-5000 RPM's) over a period of about 4 seconds. When fuel cuts out, immediately release the throttle.
    9. Allow the engine to come back to an idle.
    10. Turn the ignition off for at least 15 seconds. This step is required for the VCM to store the newly learned configuration.
