M90 Gen V bought, S1X cam on its way. Intense said my new pushrods are fine, I bought them from Intense so they'll exchange them if they are not right.

    OK, yet another question.

Injectors - the stock injectors that I have look really bad with a lot of the injector nozzle holes plugged off. What injectors should I upgrade to? 42's or 60's? I have a set of Bosch EV6 plug LS2 42.5 injectors, would they work on the 3.8?

I would try those 42's before buying new ones, if you don't run E85 they will be plenty, and even if you do run E85, they will have a decent amount of head room. I had a 3.0" pulley on last week with my ported heads and XP cam with E85 and the injector duty cycle was at 80%, since then I have gone back up to the 3.2" pulley and am at 70% duty cycle, now it is winter time, so the ethanol percentage is 70, so in the summer I might be closer to maxing the injectors, but they still might be sufficient.

I would imagine those injectors will work, but depending on the wire harness you have for the engine, you might need injector wire harness adapters. 97-03 used the EV1, 04+ used the EV6.

I have EV1 plugs so I'll need EV6 adapters. One issue, I cannot find the flow sheet on these injectors, they are LS2 Bosch injectors, but I think they are actually a bit larger than 42's. I'm going to keep looking for the flow sheet, but I may have to send them in for testing before I use them. It might be easier to just get a new set!

Dropped off the RWD Camaro 4L60E at the rebuilder today. He's going to tear it down and let me know what hard parts I may need if any I need. Going with the Monster-in-a Box kit - http://www.monstertransmission.com/4...l#.WDUdibmDm9I. We'll see if it'll hold this L67's power!!

I wouldn't go with monster transmissions, they charge too much and have a bad rep on the truck boards I am on.

You don't even get the improved 7 friction upgrade with that kit.

Many guys prefer this company for rebuild kits. The only thing missing is the sunshell. They sell that seperate.

If it was me, I wouldn't bother with the 4L60, get yourself a bell housing adapter and run a 4L80

I wouldn't want a 4L80e with the power the L67 will put out, it doesn't make enough to really need it.

Also the gearing in the 4L80e would make it worse, first gear is way too long for what he'd want. The subaru is a very light car, even lighter than the camaro it came out of, that alone goes a long way in how well a mildly rebuilt 4L60e will hold up.

Good website, the only reason I was going with the Monster kit was because it has all new solenoids included.

I wonder if the 3800 L67 pcm would be able to control it. Back in the 1990's the big blocks they put in the 3/4 ton trucks probably didn't make much more power than a supercharged 3800, but they do feel doggish when driving around, so the 4L60 would be a better choice. and with the light weight nature of the WRX, the 4L60 should be plenty.

Do they have E85 where you are at?

Yes, there are few places that sale E85. Does it really make a difference in HP?

I could do a 4l80e segment swap in the pcm and it should work just fine, I've done it in f Bodies and trucks. I have a 2wd 80e in the garage and that thing is another 1/3 the size of the 60e. I would have to cut the fire wall for the bellhousing for sure! The 60e, built right, will be more than enough for the L67.

It's like another 50 hp. You just need bigger injectors. The 42's would be fine to an extent. You need to flow about 30% more fuel, so the 42's will do that but they might max out depending on what pulley you run.

just a thought, and I don't want to rain on your parade...

Have you figured out clearance issues between the firewall and throttle body? I know the engine in a subie is pretty far forward, but it's gotta be close, especially with the intake tubing and need for a bigger MAF, especially since you're planning on cam and more.

I'm going to cut the supercharger and weld on a 3" 180 degree aluminum tube like the Fbody guys do on their swaps.

Funny you should say that - twin charged - I'm working on a twin m90 setup for an LSX 6.0. Why? Why not! This Subby needs to be finished first though!
