You might not be a performance minded individual IF:

You have three trucks and don't want a car.
All Grand Prix, all the time. 69 Model J, 99 GT & GTP coupes. All junk, haha.

[QUOTE=BrandonHall10;1494628]You remember correctly. I'm impressed. So if I'm reading that correctly, you're saying the K10 got jipped out of a motor swap and passed over for the S10, so it's the K10's turn for some attention? Sound logic.[QUOTE]

I mean, unless you want to pull the 350 out and do a full rebuild... I figure you would be more inclined to swap in the 5.7 and run it, and do one of three things with the 350:

Break it down and do a full rebuild, and set it aside. Just in case there's a 5.7 failure.

    Same as above, but
bored out, stroker crank, a decent camshaft, some nice heads, all the go fast parts and whatnot, and set it aside for the same reason as above.

Either of the above two options, and keep it for another future project or sell it to a family friend/good buddy in need of a solid SBC.

First two would present the additional challenge of keeping the ability to mount a SBC in the K10... Keeping options open, ya know?

Alright, alright that was harsh. You deserve better, B. Here is a personal Chevy truck fantasy, see how it grabs you. Blend old and new to a further extent which you can probably handle these days... Keep a solid late model "beater" 4x4 that you can share. Thats y'all's thing. But take the K down to more like SUV height, perhaps ditching the straight axle using late model or aftermarket components but sticking with 4x4. Late front frame clip? It would be unique and yank hard off the line. If you keep 70s car ground clearance, you could still go places too. But that with a topper and sliding back glass could be fun for a family. I wouldn't know, but theres one honest suggestion if you are that froggy. Kind of in keeping with what Stryker said...

You could fab a bolt-on arrangement to attach a front frame and just roll axle to air cleaner into storage and hack up a cheapo CL truck, and... yeah. The core support doesn't know what it sits on. Hmm, is all. You could snag another chassis to do this to, or... lots of options.

I didn't figure you'd leave that jab just sitting there. I know you're better than that. I like all those ideas. Truth be told, the LS swap on the K10 is just temporary. It's a long term solution to my emissions issues, but ultimately not a forever thing. Eventually I'd like to do a full frame off restoration. Take it back to nearly 100% stock condition. I'm talking GenII SBC, 700r4 trans, and maybe even a *cringe* carburetor. That's years off though. Like, after the kids grow up and move out.

I have no desire to do a full rebuild on that 350 at this time. That gets me thinking though... That 350 that's in there right now still holds great oil pressure. I might try to do a poor man's rebuild just for grins. Dingle ball hone the cylinders and toss new rings in it. Just for fun.

See? I knew me and you had similar ideas...

There's also the *expensive* option of doing the Holley Sniper EFI, the one that's basically an 850 double pumper body, but it's got sequential injectors under the throttle blades and performs like a newer MPI style system... Sniper EFI - Holley Performance Products

Just in case your adventures with a carb don't go quite as planned.

Well, I got a little side tracked on the K10 swap. I picked up an '06 Silverado 2500HD that needed some work:

Anyhow, it's all done. Wife has been dailey driving it for a couple weeks now. Met her for lunch and got to snap a picture of both of my white Chevy LQ4/80e trucks side by side.

So this truck has been together and on the road for over two years, and I'm just now tuning the MAF. VE's been done for a while so WOT fueling is all good, but idle and cruze trims were still all off. Not anymore! Got things close with the WB. then fine tuned using closed loop. I brought the apprentice along too.
