Pacesetters are here!!! Oooooh boy, can't wait till tomorrow and get those on the car
I had the KR sensor pick up a few * of knock medium throttle today so it will be a good thing to open up that exhaust!

Overkill's PCM here too... will fire it up fresh with the Pacesetters on the car! I'll be busy for the next day or so, lol.

Started the header install yesterday, will post when done, dropped phone and totally destroyed screen!

Lol, so even when you have pre-spent for parts and all you need, it seems no matter how you might try and avoid it - working on the car will cost you ($100 replacement phone) lmao!!!

Ok, now I have questions... lol

Done all I thought to do and more, so finally I took her for a Parkway ride today to open the throttle wide and Got knock!?!?!?!

After the header install and prior to this I replaced the Irridiums with Copper Core 605's and gapped them @ .54, you can see the rest of my mod's from signature.

I only saw it (knock) after I slowed down, using the OBD2/Bluetooth thingy with Torque app for Android and it register 8* knock, I don't know at what RPM though... but I was at 6k easy (Overkill).

I also got a P1133 code on the ride back, parked for about an hour while in store and drove it home, albeit a little aggressively and the code showed up. It's O2 Sensor related... but I just changed my exhaust to the Pacesetters, added a can of TechRon Injector cleaner to the tank, filled her up and here we are. Could it be the Ported throttle body/leaning out fuel?

I'm not thinking I screwed the O2 cause I didn't drop it or anything like that and I know they're the same (front & back) so doesn't matter if I mixed their position, but I didn't.

So now I have questions on how to address this?

    Colder plugs still?
Wait for the new Overkill to learn more/settle in?
    Will High Ratio Rockers help?
    Change Open Cone to CAI?
Replace Ported TB with a Stock one?
    Lastly, pulley up ?

Suggestions and info. is greatly appreciated!
    Regards

Clean Car, love the color... sorry I have no idea about the problem or how to fix, but I do know a couple things from experience on this forum.
Colder plugs from iridiums only help to prevent knock... could be worth trying out and testing to see if (given your mods) your running too hot of a spark.
After a week the PCM should be settled well, if you drive often.
Rockers might help, but people run with 0* without them, so I wouldn't put alot into that as a fix.
Open Cone > CAI... dyno proven... leave the intake alone.

Trying a stock TB might be worth a shot, check a local Junk Yard to see if you can pick up one for next to nothing, some trial and error would go along way, speculating only works well in theory.

Pulley up is ALWAYS a good option if your knocking, but I would try the TB and or plugs first before buying a new pulley. Unless you have a spare L67 to throw in after you chip a piston, or just enjoy tear apart a motor, safety should always be priority.

Lastly, personal opinion... get some wheels... they really set off the look of the car and work really well with our Silvermist color... trust

You re-affirm what I was thinking. I dropped from the Irridium's to one colder (605's) but still got KR, will drop another level see if that helps.

I don't remember reading anywhere what happens if plugs are TOO cold... misfire?

Ok, thanks wasn't sure how long, haven't really got out every day to put some miles on her, so I'll give it a little more time. I'm coming into Rockers soon, wasn't going to install them right away, but if they'll help I might just put them in. I'll try some of the easier fixes first...

Yeah... is why I'm just a little freaked about it (knock). Especially with Rev. Limiters removed on PCM, lol, don't want to have to tear down the motor. I ported the TB cause I planned to put the headers in, so my thoughts were if you open exhaust, then you need more air right? But not so sure now, more air = lean AF... Wonder if it will settle though with PCM, we'll see.

Lastly, personal opinion... get some wheels... they really set off the look of the car and work really well with our Silvermist color... trust

Hahaha, you know, wheels & rubber are usually the FIRST thing I put on my cars as I think they're the most important (rubber), but this time I went internal/motor first. No worries, they're coming in Spring time for sure. GMPP handling made suspension tight and the cheap rubber on the car breaks loose before anything else.

Thanks for your reply, I appreciate your thoughts and suggestions. On my way to Parts store for colder plugs!

Just FYI, if you plan to use ploy bushings on both sides it transmits a LOT of vibration. I actually took the round poly's out and replaced them with the original rubber. I left the square poly's in.
