Forgot to tell you guys! Ran over a Huge screw today in northland mall parking lot, felt like i was driving on train tracks suddenly, well i get to the nearest shop which is mr lube lols, my buddy works there so i trust it there anywho buddy patches my tire for $10, then tell my wife that tire wont be safe for our highway trips in the winter, i told her thats true i dont trust the tires anymore and we have a patch in the back one... she says get new summer tires! but i get smart for a second and we go home and i show her i can get rims and tires for the same price as brand new tires alone, she told em to start saving! cat wait for spring!
AND im getting a overkill tune very soon!

Having tips sticking out the back of the car just looks out of place, might be better off with a more stealth look such as the tail pipes tucked underneath the rear bumper.

when i get a resonator i dont want the car to be whisper quiet cause it essentially is stock exhuast, just for a 08 5.3l impala ss not a 05 impala 3.8 lol, so if i get a tiny resonator will that get rid of my rasp but keep some of my rumble?

Getting rid of the cat gives it more of a deep tone...the resonator doesn't really quiet it down THAT much it gets rid of all the rasp...if you went catless with a 26"~ glasspack...it'd be worth it. Trust me.

That isn't a high flow cat.

I think I was the first to run one as well.

These cats aren't about flow, they're about being an effective catalyst.

well thats good, cause etest are every 2 years so i dont want to worry about my cat everytime, when i get headers ill get that cat so i can have full 2.5'' exhaust front to back and know its still almost as efffective etest wise as stock. having a slight bottleneck even though minimal it would still bug me to no end.

will that be bad for a 2.5'' setup with headers? or should i stay stock cat to be safe?

What I'm trying to say is, high flows might be good enough in the future if the OBDII test only checks OBDII readiness.

In the same, with the codes disabled, your car wont post as ready. Thus you might fail.

Its all a waiting game at this point.

If I were you I'd invest in a good cat, but 3". I can't see any 3.8 not benefiting from a 3" downpipe or headers.

So my brother got the 180 tstat in today, but had a full tank of 87 octane to get out, we(my brother lol), tried d/c the main fuel line from the top of the engine and letting it pour into a bucket but when i put the key to the on position nothing happend.
well 10 minutes later he got it pouring out, i dont know what he did so i asked, he said he jumped the relay so the pump would contiously run, well w/e he did worked had the whole car empty in 20 minutes, drove his truck to the gas station got $15 in 91 octane, ill run that low do another $10 in 91 then fill up on 91 on monday when i finally get my custom tune from overkill! cant wait! i would go i higher octane then 91 but any higher octane is hard to find and i dont want to have to keep looking for gas station if im going out 8 hours + drive

I'm speaking from experience here (Been dealing with L36s since 2006.. 1995 Bonneville and my Impala) so take it with a grain of salt. I'm gonna sound like a dick but I don't know why you're so involved in the exhaust. You're driving a basically stock L36 car, you don't need anything fancy. ZZP Downpipe, 2.5 or 3.0" with the Magnaflow catalytic convertor and the U-bend delete and a 2.5" exhaust from the cat-back is all you need exhaust-wise, period. The most gains you're going to see with that engine is within the induction side of things. Without being FI, you're going to be honestly wasting your time and money otherwise. The absolute best bet to do if you're looking for a quicker car with an L36 is H/C/I and gear down. We're held back quite a way with our 3.05 FD's. There's some hidden power in a nice tune as well.

Honestly, the next best thing to start with is your suspension. To fully work it over is about 2.5G's. Drops look tight as **** on these cars. Some more agressively-valved struts and shorter, stiffer springs really do wake these cars up. I personally started with SS Sway bars front and rear, I then bought ZZP's KYB GR2/SSC drop spring combo as well as some W-body store HD Control arms .. all I have left is the rear lateral links and trailing arms. I'd like to go with the BMR stuff.. but will likely end up with the GMPP stuff.

Here's how they look with a drop.

    Before

    After

By the way.. don't do quad tips. It'll look gay.
