Good deal. I’ve been checking around trying to find a used set but there’s not a lot out there.

Just the driver side and rearview auto dim. I think both sides are heated

Any recommendations on a rack? This one leaks pretty good, course I found that out after the drivetrain was put back in. Would’ve been a lot easier to replace with it out

Nice Regal. I just picked up a white 02 GS with 114k on it.

Feels like I'm joining the club, lol

Rack can be out of just about any w body. I had good luck with jy ones, have heard some stories about reman issues. Either way.. they aren't too bad and it looks like you have a lift available.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

Wish I had a lift lol. I’d rather get a new/reman and not have to do it again. Idk what racks are worth a **** though. Rockauto does show a Delco reman rack that’s about 150 bucks

i can do one in about a hr or so in the driveway. not to hard really.

i only need to get fully under the car to undo the two hard lines. the rest i can lay on my side and reach in to the rack bolts and what not.

I’m happy with the ACDelco Professional rack I got on RockAuto. More costly then the rest but I be also heard of re-man nightmares so spent the dough on what might be a better quality version. Just did this job on the Turbo. This time (like Scotty, also a pro at this now) I didn’t even remove the outer tie rods from the knuckles. They can be a real bytch so I skipped all that. Separated the rods by unscrewing them apart. Got it done quick. I don’t know about 1hr....? Come on Scotty! Haha

So I swapped out the MAP sensor for the one from the purple car since I knew that one was good hoping that would get the boost guage to read correct. Nope. Still only 8-9 inches of vacuum at idle and only about 6 lbs of boost wide open. I found a vacuum gauge laying around the shop and hooked that up to where the MAP sensor line is and it read 18-19 inches at idle. So for whatever reason the PCM is not seeing boost/vacuum correct. I'm guessing it's something with this Intense tune. Who knows.

There is no proper in/hgs channel in HP Tuners if I remember right. My aeroforce scangauge would read it though.

I never bothered to log the MAP in inches or psi. Only used KPA to get my data. So 150 kpa would be 7.2psi of boost and 162 kpa would be 9psi of boost for example.

I’m not reading it with HP tuners. I just want the factory boost gauge in the DIC to read correctly

6lbs max. The PCM reads half of everything. It reads 8-9 inches of vacuum at idle and a mechanical gauge reads about 18

does it whine loud? or does it feel like 6 psi?

might need to tune the tm files. i had to when i did the gen 5 swap, would only make 5 psi max. felt dead. no whine.

or the bbv is not working right.

in hptuners scanner, set up a boost gauge, see if it reads higher. you should be in the 12 psi range top of the rpm's.

if it reads higher the cluster maybe messed up. because the map sensor is what both will be scanning.

It’s not the cluster. If I hook up a scan tool it shows the same 6lbs. Like I said it reads everything half. Scanner shows 8-9in of vacuum and mechanical gauge shows 18-19inches. Scanner shows 6lbs. Cluster shows 6lbs. I don’t have a mechanical boost gauge anymore but it feels like the same 12-13lbs the purple car made

vac line comes from the T under the snout? other side of the t goes to the fpr then to the bbv right? no cracks or busted t or line maybe?

Bought me another car. Don't see the need for another thread, this will be pretty short I think. The Camaro is supposed to be sold come spring time so I did some looking around for another car. Found me a pretty nice roller GTO. Car is from Texas and rust free. There is a few hail dings on it but I think a decent PDR guy could get them out no problem. The car is pretty well complete minus the motor/trans. Pretty much everything else is there. Harness, hoses, mounts, driveshaft etc etc. Anyway, here's some pics.

Original plan was to put my 4.8 in it but I scrapped that idea in favor of getting the correct LS2 for the car.

Already ordered a fair amount of parts. Got the correct GTO oil pan, an entire accesory drive, the LS2, LS2 tb, intake setup, long tubes, gaskets to reseal the engine except for the heads; no need to pull them I don't think, LS9 cam and springs for the extra lift, plugs and wires, etc. Only big item I have left to buy is the trans which I've already got one secured. Selling my 4.8 truck for some funds toward this car. The LS2 also came with an FBody LS pan setup which is no use for me. Should be able to get a couple hundred bones for that as well.

I don't suggest the LS9 camshaft. Lots of better options out there.
