A mod a long time ago posted a thread about a dyno of my car at the time and I joined to say hello, but never ended up staying.

I've seen alot of posts with Nicks turbo regal and I've talked to him over the years and followed with his build. I wanted to post up as there are other turbo 3800s lurking and still very much apart of the community.

Car in question you might recognize, hell I know and see a lot of familar names on here from people I've met over the last 10+ years with these cars.

I should add, and he will certainly reply, that this car is turbocharged400sbc's infant baby child

Dyno: 608whp SAE corrected, done at Speed Inc outside of Chicago, converter locked, 18 psi and on e70 in december. Car was not 100% and having fueling issues as well as a few others. This was a few years ago lol

    dyno graph

    The car:

    Track:

Car went a best of 11.3 @ 130 on pretty much the same thing as when on the dyno, still hitting a ceiling with airflow and fuel. Baby burnout, not really trying at the line, crappy 2.0 60' lol, full weight car minus the back seat at the time.

Car has never really been on "kill mode" because it has broken quite often after doing an outing, but that was due to some weak points in the trans which has cost me almost multiple months every season with this build.

I did a 1/2 mile race last summer and will make a seperate thread about that, in addition to updating this thread when I can with pics and whatnot of the setup.

that was me that posted about your car. your car is awesome.

nick's car is probably fine, but it's more fun to pick on him.

I love this car... was the inspiration for my build.
You guys like to live dangerously with that 12.8-13.0 AFR on the dyno lol

I never complimented. Because it's a Regal, who needs to tell you it's cool, we all know it is!

    Color me skeptical...
Just for haha's yesterday I was running 12.5 AFR and she seemed to like it.
But it just doesn't make me feel good lol

I'm going to stay 11.5-12.0, I definitely was too rich before.

the whole "you have to have this afr" has been well disproved by the last 20 years of engine development and testing.

its well known that total powerplant design is a major factor, so while us max effort guys can get away running lean, we dont want to go too lean. likely we wont ever try to hit 13to1 by accident even lol...you want to be in a safe zone for sure but just putting it there and leaving it is the *****'s way out... guys run sc cars too rich as well.

im still running my 04 gtp clone with no PE and downshifts all but disabled

freaking amazing how much longer the tank lasts...shoot its seldom i need to go over 50% throttle anyways
