I'm trying to put the passenger seat back in my 02 gt coupe and have a question about the rear mounting bolts. Chemotherapy has my memory shot so I cant remember if the star bit bolts are the correct ones for the bolts that hold the seat to the body towards the back of the seat? I have the front hooked in correclty but when I use the star bolts it seems that they are about a half inch too long.. they thread in fine but after about a quarter inch in they get really hard to tighten and I don't want to strip them.. any ideas on what I'm doing wrong if these are indeed the correct bolts. I assume they are supposed to be tight but idk.

wow did i skim that post, make sure the front hooks are in place, theres a plastic part that mounts on the frame, thats it. like a corner protector/trim.

and the rear bolts are torx, and also 15 mm bolts as well. sounds crazy, but try switching the bolts to the other holes.

thats how mine bolt in, nothing more.

your just missing that plastic part on the end, but that kinda clips under and around it, nothing to do with bolt.

you could put a few washers under it if you feel its gonna strip out or something, but remember there is factory thread lock on the threads, they get very hard to turn at the end, ive had mine out a few times, so they are smoother theses days.

did you try the bolts on opposite holes yet? one of my seats are alike this, only one bolts feels good in each hole, mix them up and i know it 1/2 way in.

I finally got it. Tried the washers but then the seat wouldn't slide back because the slider would hit the bolt. Got the cordless impact out and it went in like a charm. Then took the ratchet to see if it stripped and it didn't budge so we are good. Shouldnt ever need to come out again unless I sell it, buy I have a feeling that if I sell it the 200 lb box and subs are going with it. Lol was a pain to get the damn thing in.
