hi i just bought a 99 gtp. i dont have much money and i dont know much about modding, . it was bone stock. so i put a 180 thermo on it and an intake. im goin to get cooler plugs. i heard about dropping pulley size. what size should i go to? i dont plan on doin much more other than maybe a pcm and/or exhaust after that. Any info would be greatly appreciated. thank u n god bless!

Use the search option, look for the modding your 3800 sticky.
Dont change the pully until you have proper supporting mods.

READ, READ, READ....ask questions, and learn about your car. Only do a pulley drop once you have the supporting mods.

read this 20 times.... http://www.grandprixforums.net/f81/s...car-17482.html not tryin to be a smart ass... but seriously read it. these cars are really quite simple to mod once u know the basics... pulley is the LAST thing u wanna get.

Really do read that thread, it's amazing, and really damn detailed. I still pop it up sometimes to see what I should do next..

Just goto an exhaust shop and have them do it 40 0r 50 bucks. Then save up 225 for some headers(speed daddy off ebay), 50 for a tune (guy on here named reptile), 10 for AL104's (autozone)and 2500 for just in case money (blowing your engine or trans).

Question would it be cheaper to just buy a gtp motor instead of doing a top swap?

would be alot easier... ive found GTP motors for as low as 500 bucks... u will need engine...wiring harness and pcm. whereas top swap u need alotta ****.. alotta labor...and a good tune to have it run right.
