Thread: heated seat

hi , we just purchased a 2001 grand prix gt, found the heated seat not to be working, i read in your forums different checks, will start wit hthose and see, also the float in the fuel tank seems to be intermitent? or is the sendor faulty?

If youir seat is like mine, and I think it will be, if the heated seat element is bad, it is part of the seat cushion. I trouble shooted my heated seat and everything was fine, up until the heated seat elements. Mine does not work and when I took the seat apart, I discovered the element is sewn into the cushion. The only way to replace it replace the entire cushion.

If you were to find one at a salvage yard, I am sure thy would want to sell you the entire seat. Plus you are taking your chances on if it works or not.

The only solution is to find a element from another vehicle that can be replaced, cut the wires to yours and splice the new one in. You would put it right under the broken one since you cannot remove it.
