Hey guys, first post on here! I have been reasearching all day but figured i would try the best source for the 3800. I have an 04 GP 3800 with 215k on the clock. It has always ran great until this morning. I left for work and as soon as i hit the gas to leave, it died? It had been idling for 15 minutes already, like i do most cold mornings. It didnt want to start for about 30 seconds but then fired up. Tried to drive off and it died again. This happened anout 10 times, and wouldnt want to start for a few minutes after each time. I can revv it all day long in Park or Neutral, but dies almost instantly in Drive.

I did notice i could limp it home if I kept the RPM lower than about 1400, anything higher and it dies right away?

Before i go buying every sensor for this thing, can anyone help that might have also had this issue?.

    Thanks!

Check the connector for the MAF sensor they can either get corroded or can get loose and will act like its not even plugged in.

turn key to run, pop the hood and open the cap on the fuel rail, push the pin in to see if gas shoots out, should come out with force, it if dont the fuel pump died.

He said it will rev up to the limiter in park, so it's not a fuel issue. Nor does it seems like a dirty throttle body would cause this.

Seems like a possible transmission issue if it dies in gear. Curious as to what happens if you pull it all the way down into manual first gear.
