Hey folks! I am the owner of a rusty-but-trusty, Michigan, 04 Black Pontiac Grand Prix GTP, series II 3800 motor, with the accommodating transmission (I honestly don't know a lot about them). The car has 293+ thousand miles, with a minor bottom end knock that goes away when the engine warms up. The thing seriously runs like a champ! I bought my grand prix later last summer, the day after I bought mine, my older brother bought a white one, and this last February my folks bought a silver one. The 3800 motor is beast! It runs forever, and the don't have too many issues with them that I'm aware of. I paid $600 for mine, and it had 280,545 miles on it when I purchased it, since then (last September) I've got it up to 293xxx miles, and its still going. Since purchasing it, I've done a few things all the way around, installed a new fuel pump, hydraulic hood arms, changed the supercharged fluid (it smelled disgusting). I've installed brakes pads all the way around, rear sway bar link that I monkey-ed up. Replaced both front wheel bearings, replaced one of the front wheel speed sensor harnesses that was shot. I've done little things like gas cap change and wiper replacement. I've replaced both front outer tierod ends. I am very shortly here going to be replacing the driver's side front lower control arm; the whole thing!

I do have a question concerning the front lower control arm: how do I know what one to replace it with? and I ask that because O eilly's, (yes, O Reilly's) have three different options. The options are based on different mm of something. I am wondering what the difference is between a 20mm lower control arm, as opposed to a 24mm, and a 32mm! What is the difference?

The "mm" is for what sway bar you have. That is why they ask for that.

I believe 2004 has the sway bars that mount to the strut and then to the sway bar itself. The 1997-2003 have the thicker sway bar that mounts to the LCA. Either LCA fit but the tab that is welded on the older LCA does get in the way if you have the strut mounted sway bars.

Later on in like 2006 they switched back the LCA mounted sway bar. Pretty sure just 2004-2005 had the strut mounted sway bars.

If you can measure your sway bar and just visually look at the bar you can determine what lower control arm you need.

Welcome to the forums! If you're looking for help, I would recommend making a post in the Introduction/Noob Questions forum detailing what information you're looking for. You're likely to get an answer or help there.
