The same idea should work, the exact measurments might not be the same, you will just half to test fit, and build your own. pick up a 3" to 4" rubber reducer, and a 45*-4" elbow, and some 4" pvc, and try.

ZZP dyno tested it and recorded half a horse loss when using that.

I was thinking about doing a FWI but people have said that they decrease gas milage, and I am worried about hydro lock.

Most cars drop 1 - 2 mpg, some even increase mpg.

I'm sure this sounds like a dumb question but why would your gas milage drop

colder air means there's more oxygen in it. In order to the the air/fuel ratio correct, and since you're running richer air, then you must run richer fuel.

because every car runs different and is in a different environment. According to my principal, sucking in hot air would give you better gas mileage, but i still dropped with a short ram. Either way, we're talking about 1 mpg.

and yes, the person that said they had an increase was running a short ram, which is hot air. fenderwell is cold air.

Here's my intake, quite easy to do, very simple. Cost me $66 out the door with a $10 off coupon from advance. It's 4 inch tubing with a 45 degree bend, I tried the 22.5 degree bend but the filter was to big and was hitting I believe the cruise control. I bought one 3.5 to 4in coupler, bought a 7/8's holesaw bit for IAT, came with the grommet. K&N filter 4x9 inch very pleased. I actually saw on the butt dyno you can def feel the difference. Supercharger screams like a baby. I also had a old 45 degree elbow and since my car is a 98gtp I already had the triangle duct where the guys use the roof flashing. I attatched the 45 degree bend on the inside of the fenderwell to duct cold air right to the tip of the filter.

Pic quality sucks, cell phone pic but you get the general idea.

The elbow in the fender will do nothing unless you have it all the way to your fog light housing and made a ram air or something. you would be better off just opening up that little triangle area to let more air thru.... but anyways all you have is a short ram, which is hot air, and yes it will be loud, the s/c whine that is.

my problem with this whole thing. the measurments for the roof flashing were no where close and i mutilated the first roof flashing and have to do it over again tomorow. and yes getting the pvc into the 90 degree elbow small side is not that easy after 2 hours of messing with it and cutting open my hand. im going to try again tomorow and see how this turns out. only thing i changed is i painted the pvc pipe blue to just have a different look.

after all that mess with the flashing and everything, I just switched mine over to short ram. The filter was getting rediculously dirty being right next to the road. It's much easier now I can't really tell a difference on the butt dyno.
