    Hi guys,

I am really needing some help today. I am having issues with the cooling fans on my mothers car. I am not sure what would be the next troubleshooting step to perform at this point. Let me tell you about the car first.

    Car info:

    Year: 1995
    Make: Pontiac
    Model: Grand Prix SE
    Trans: 4T60E
    Engine: 3.1 Liter

So... Here is the issue I am having. The primary cooling fan is not kicking on around 210 degrees. The AC fan kicks on and cools the car down at about 220 degrees or so. Here is what I've done as far as troubleshooting:

    1. I pulled the primary cooling fans plug and looked for voltage at 210 to 216 degrees. There is none.
    2. I have checked the relays and they are both good.
    3. I have changed swapped the plugs on the fan for the AC to the primary cooling fan to make sure the fan motor itself is good. The fan worked.
    4. When I unplug the temp sensor, both fans kick on.
    5. I put in a new temp sensor.
    6. I have checked to see if the water pump is circulating, it does not appear to be a strong circulation by the weep holes, but it is circulating.

As I stated before, I am not sure what else to do. I have been searching the web for a bit now. Some individuals are saying that it is a bad ECU. I would like to make sure before I just go buy one. They aren't that bad, but they are not cheap. Apparently from what I see on the web, I'm not the only one that has seen, or dealt with this issue. What do I need to do from here?

    Thanks,

Hot wire to the battery with a toggle switch? Pronounced g-h-e-t-t-o, but it'll get it done. Just remember to turn it off. Lol
