Any ideas what this clunk is. Recently replace control arms, swaybars including poly bushings and endlinks, installed ssc springs, and tie rod ends. This happens every initial acceleration from a stop, going over speed bumps and sometimes while turning over uneven surfaces.

It sounds like someone is hitting the subframe with a hammer and its loudest on the pass side

Ive checked the endlinks, torque on all the bolts, and the calipers are tight

Only visible issue i can see is the cv axle is spewing grease

    Sorry the vid is sideways

Wow, that's a good one alright. Let me what you find when you get it resolved.

Change that CV axle!! The car I just bought had a bad drivers side CV axle. The boot was ripped to shreds and it was dry as a bone as in no grease. It made a terrible popping noise when I would make turns or at take off. Plus it would be a good time to check further in the suspension like the cradle mounts since mine need to be changed which can get oil soaked to make them deteriorate cause of the oil.

CV axle is the obvious one here. If the grease is gone, then the CV is likely shot. Get a Napa axle and call it a day. Might also want to give all the cradle mounts a lookover as well as mentioned.

Yeah, axle shouldn't sound like that. Looks pretty sloppy where it goes into the tranny. Your Diff might be shot. Dunno. End links are definitely loose. Should set it on the ground and tighten end links. The Moogs I just put in were like 20ft/lbs or less. Put some threadlocker on the bolt.

Oh didnt think about tightening the end link while on the ground that makes since. Eeek hope its not the diff, and just the axle

I always just jack up the control arm up carefully to simulate the same angle as it would be on the ground and then tighten the links

Went to try and tighten up the endlinks more today and stripped them out. So i installed some new GMPP ones i had laying around. Seems to have quited the clunk a bit but its still there all the time, but just attribute this to the fact they are rubber and the old endlinks were poly. Next step will be the axle

Roger that. Thanks for the update. It is nice to see the solution to your vexing problem so that if any of us ever experience the same thing we will know what to look for.
