so my car started running rough , i limped it home with a flashing CIL it sounded like its running on 4 cylinder instead od six just like an old tractor would , i found yesterday that the 1st and 4th cylinder wont get a spark so i went to Napa , got a new coil and replaced it thinking it fixed the issue .
The problem is still there could it be a bad ICM ? or a sensor that controls the ICM , i"m confused since the other four cylinders are still working
does anyone know what this could be ? any help would be highly appreciated

    icm probably.

swap that new coil and put it where one of the other working coils. see if it still acts up on the coil pack in question.

see if the icm needs to be cleaned where the coil sits.

if none of this works find a used icm. new aint cheap.

I would guess either the icm or maybe bad wires. Check the wires for cylinder 1 and 4 before digging into the icm.

ok ill try swapping the coil around tomorrow just to make sure napa didn't sell me a bad one , the contacts where the coil sits on are clean , i cleaned them before putting the new coil on, if that doesn't work ill go to the wrecking yard and pull an ICM , i was also thinking of getting the harness just to make sure its not a broken wire , thank you guys for the input really appreciate it

went to a junk yard and got a couple ICM's and a extra coil that looked brand new , cost me next to nothing , swapped the ICM cleaned the contacts and put it back together , it's running !!! So nice to hear the engine back in normal condition and not on 4 cylinders lol , thank you for all the information guys
