My Radiator fans died (they don't turn on at all), I am a noob, are they easy to replace? (2001 GT) My engine heats up really fast at red lights Goes back down to normal when I drive of course (the first bold line from 160), however that has to be bad for my engine.

Ignore engine light, I replace everything the codes where showing, but I used third party parts, which I don't think they are reading with the computer. Anyhow, the needle was on the bold line above right before I took this pic.

Third party parts have nothing to do with the check engine light. What codes are being shown?

I don't own a reader (my friend does), but it was the oxygen sensor which I replace both of them and the EVAC pump or something like that and that is it.

Check out the how to here. These guys give you everything down to the wrench size. If you can't find just fans look for radiator replacement.

I'd bleed the cooling system, maybe some air is trapped in there and is causing the temps to rise quickly when not moving.

If you can also back spray the radiator to help remove dirt and allow he rad to remove heat from the coolant system better.

Thanks! The fans have been making funny noises when shutting the car off, then one day the noise stop, that when the engine started to over heat, when I poped the hood, the car was running hot and the fans did not even kick in at all.

    Update:

Called Auto Zone and it $260 for new assimilable for the fans with a lifetime warranty, is that a good deal? I have done the whole junk yard thing and 9 out of 10 the parts I get don't work, tired of that ****, so I go all
new now! If you guys know someone with a 100% working guaranteed fans for the 3800 let me know! Only way I buy used if I am guaranteed it works before buying!

Check rockauto.com, see what they have for a fan assmebly. It might be cheaper, I guess it would depend on what brands they carry.
