I've got a 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix. Occasionally when I'm driving the front end out my car makes a dull, almost-grinding noise. It's not super loud, but I can feel it vibrate a little through the floorboard. The "Low traction" light comes on in the car. It doesn't do it very often, but I want to diagnose and fix it asap. Nothing is rubbing and the tires are new. I gave it an oil change this morning and nothing looked out of place down there. My best guess is a wheel bearing, but I'd like to get a little input before doing anything.

sounds like hub bearing to me.

jack up each front wheel, lugs tight, then push and pull the top of the tire, if you feel play aka the tire moves, the hub is bad.

bad hubs make the abs sensor not work right, same for low traction.

Okay, just did that. Neither tire moved.

best to find a shop that will scan the car, they charge for this most of the time.

unless you see damaged wires to the hubs, they run along the lower control arms to the hubs sensor, they tend to get damaged. if that all looks good, get it scanned. that will pin point the problem. you could guess all day long and never get it fixed.
