Ok new to this site. I have a 97 grand prix leather and my seat quit going forward and back..... this is a problem my wife is like 5'6 and i'm 6'2 so it feels like i am driving a go cart... now what seats can i put in there and bolt in and plug the power to them and go.... i am looking for the least mods. i also have a 99 and the seats are different. i like the 99 seats but i havent loooked to see if the electrical connectors are the same.... i called junks yards for seats so i just need to find a compatibility chart or something....

IF you'd like to fix the seat.
Do you hear the motor turning when you press the button?
Is the motor connected if there is no noise?
To check the motors unbolt the two 15mm bolts you'll find on the tracks if you lay in the backseat and look at the front seat.

If the motor appears to be connected, test for power at the motor connector when you actuate the switch. No power? replace switch. Got power, replace motor after trying to turn the driveshaft that the motor would typically turn to ensure it's not bound up.

Seats from the same number of door car should fit fine 97-03.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

well i took a test light and unhooked the motor and found no power at the motor. but the switch has the back and forth motions and then it will lean the seat back and forth motion it will do that. so your thinking its the switch? there is absolutly no noise coming from the motor at all. i tried to tap it with a ratchet and still nothing........ hope its a easy fix thanks
