First time post, long time lurker

I had a strange issue this morning with my 08 grand prix (all stock). I noticed last night that the date on my DIC was reset; I corrected the date before heading into the store. When I got back in the car the date was correct, but now the time on the radio was reset, I fixed it and went home.

I went to start the car this morning, turned the ignition on, radio and lights came on like they should, they I went to start it, all the lights and radio went off. No clicks or anything, it’s like someone took the battery out. I fooled around with it for a bit, I tried to jump it off my truck; I was able to get the lights and radio working while it was jumped, but it wouldn’t start.

Took the battery to auto zone, they said it was 100%. Cleaned the terminals and the ground connection to the chassis and it started right up. The terminals aren’t that bad, I find it hard to believe that it was the cause of the issues, have any of you guys seen this before?

I have never heard of a problem like yours. Let us hope it was just a glitch.

it sounds like the terminals werent tight or corroded a little. have you done any recent work that required to remove any of the major ground points at all?

Nope, in fact this was the first time I have had the battery terminals off, there was some corrosion on the positive side, I didn’t think it was enough to cause an issue. Guess it could have though.
