    They look a little rusty and I want to clean them. Is WD-40 good enough?

    sand paper and some electrical contact cleaner for the coils. Just buy new plug wires.

    Sandpaper works. I also use DeoxIT on terminals to clean off oxidation.

    When you reinstall your wires, new or the same ones, I'd also use a dielectric grease on the boots to help keep moisture out of them going forward.
