nice little package but doesn't the flex tubing with the ridges mess the the air flow. doesn't come through smooth but all choppy.

I went from the JMB Performance intake to this kit and gained 8 degree colder air on average. I noticed no decrease in power, only better torque. I would say on a naturally aspriated high horsepower engine the ridges might make a difference but on a supercharger car where the air is sucked in, it does not...

You could have made an intake with those same poorly designed parts for about $40.

When you add those same parts up on Summit it comes to over $125. They parts are actually very nicely designed and work perfectly. I use this on my own car and simply trying to pass on a good design to other members of the board.

That looks like it would work, but the flexible inlet hose doesn't look like it would last very long.

I wouldn't mind having that hangar assembly for my setup, though.

Why would you go through Summit? They're not exactly well priced. You could EASILY put most of that together, and with a legitimate/recognized brand of filter (which would be the only "expensive" part) for well below $100 if you shopped around a bit. That literally is one of those $50 homemade kits put together for you for $100.

Like I said, simply trying to put together a convenient kit which works with great results. You would not need to shop around, purchase everything at once with ease and bolt on to go.

This is pretty similar to what I ended up doing. Cost me $70 bucks and some ingenuity but I managed to fit a 9" cone in the fender with 4in tubing going to the TB. Anyone ever have problems with their lowered cars and FWI's? In heavy rain my filter gets pretty wet, the car has never hydrolocked but has made some bad noises.
    Any ideas?

I had the exact same issues with stuttering and other similar issues during heavy rain.
I installed an Outerwear Water Resistant Pre-Filter and it instantly stopped the issues. I have a brand new sealed extra one in black, if you would be interested, $30 shipped.

Moving this to the General Tech section. This is not a for sale post, more so an informational post on a CAI setup.

    Thanks.
