So I picked up a trunk from a 2001 gtp from the junk yard. Mine was bad spray painted from previous owner, had a small dent and this new one is from a special edition so it has the different spoiler. Anyways I tried mounting it with the hinges that came with the trunk and it wouldn’t close. I’d hit on the side at the back. So I put my old hinges on and tried it and it’s better but still doesn’t close. The back corners are sitting too low. How do you adjust the trunk to fit, sit and close right? Thanks!

Assuming your car is a 97-03 then it should just be the rubber bump stops that are on the corners of the trunk lid that screw in/out to adjust the stop height and then getting the latch assembly on the the lid set correctly. I looked at my 00 GT and these look like the adjustment points besides the hinges themselves. Didn't pull the trunk carpet back to look at the latch hook but likely there is a depth adjustment there too. As far as I know all the 97-03 cars had the same hinge/trunk lid setup.

The hinges changed in like 1999-2000. I doubt coupe to sedan made a difference at all.

I put a 1999 deck lid on my 2000 car way back and the hinges were different.

Both trunks use the same hinges. It’s stopping from closing before the rubber stoppers. What ways is there to adjust the hinges?
