Crank Pos. Sensor..Had it replaced and error code does not go away..mechanic says its some magnet on the timing chain and that replacing it is the only way to fix this...Major engine work to the tune of at least $1000..so this mechanic says...Car does run rough at idle sometimes and will stall from running but it does run good everywhere else...I had to get a waiver for inspection in the state of NC...so what is the truth here?
Also ABS..Traction control and Tire Pressure warning lights are also on..
Do I need major engine work to fix the P0341 code?
    Also got a P0301 CYL1 misfire....???

I'm guessing you need a CASE relearn.

Nevermind. P0341 is CAMshaft error, not CRANKshaft.

Did they replace the wrong sensor?

if you changed it already, id try changing the crank/ cam to icm harness. that thing tends to get worn out. some how the insulation gets beaten off the wires, then you get a low circuit.

its not to hard to remove really. crank plug is the hardest, you need to use a pick through the plastic cover behind the balancer, takes a creative looking at.

no. just like i stated, cam/crank, to icm. its the short harness the cam and crank sensor plug into, it plugs into a square plug near the front v/c and the icm iirc.

    the damage to mine.

that bad harness gave me 3 codes, and made my fuel pump quit. worth a shot to take it out and look it over.

A code P0341 may mean that one or more of the following has happened: Cam sensor wiring routed too close to spark plug wiring (causing interference) Poor wiring connection at cam sensor Poor wiring connection at PCM Bad cam sensor Damaged reluctor wheel

how are the plug wires routed? they near the harness at all? might be connected.

Dunno what book you are referring to, but it IS Cam sensor code, not Crank. So again, did they replace the wrong sensor?
