Just replaced my brakes with a great z23 brake kit from power stop, and yes i'm sure i paid too much for brakes on 'just a grand prix' but brakes are something I want full confidence in.....

Heres the thing, now with fancy new brakes that have nice tight tolerances and not much wear... they scrape pretty bad turning left and some going straight... mostly passenger side but some driver side too.... Pretty damn sure it's the wheel bearings. Looking for recomendations now, I DON'T want to be replacing them again a year from now but really don't want to dump a ton of more money into this car. The full hub assemblies look to be all that's available?

    will the duralast do?

Or does one have to spring for the MOOG's....

Get the Moog or Timken from rockauto.com . There is always a 5% discount code available online. The powerstops work great I have the 2010 Impala front 12" dual piston set up from them and way better braking performance. Also check the brake hardware and backing plate for the scraping noise. Usually the bearing will cause more of a growl while driving straight and sometimes the noise will lessen some on the turns.

Agreed on Moogs. I changed both front and one rear with them. The one rear one did fail, but it was replaced under warranty without hassle.

That's another thing, while Rockauto may save you a few dollars you have to deal with the hassle of shipping back items for warranty issues. The Moog is about $90 there and about $10 for shipping. You can get the Moog for about $110 with Advance by using the 30% code and do the buy online, pickup in store.

This way if you do have a failure you can get it taken care of locally.

I see decent prices on timkin, or these from summit

Opinions? Concerned since this is almost half the price of the moogs from AutoZone. If the moogs are nicer I'll grab em, but if they're some... lesser moogs or something...

The part number on summit is the same as the one from autozone, it's the same bearing and a different price.

If summit is cheaper, buy from summit.

I would also recommend torquing the wheel bearing to spec. I has a string of wheel bearings go bad after 1 or 2 years, until I started torquing them to spec and I haven't had to change a wheel bearing in 3 years so far... knock on wood.

If your car has ABS that is not the right one.
