HPT can not tune 2008 NA 3800 cars.

Only been said tons of times over. 2008 is a can-bus year only system, nobody offers support for them.

06-07 is different than previous years and is now supported. 08 is a whole new ball game and everything I have read says it is not supported.

The GXP is the only 2008 supported as it runs a different controller for the V8 motor.

As for what I did today I cleaned the Grand Prix up to get it ready to list it for sale. I vacuumed the inside, cleaned and conditioned the leather, and wiped the other surfaces down. I wiped the underhood compartment up and made it all nice and shiny. Then I washed, chamoised and waxed the outside up.

I'll probably post a for sale ad tomorrow, but for this thread I'll post one pic of the results

Replaced the air pump solenoid in the 08. A lot easier the second time around.

fixed my busted horn, was sticking on, as well as when i hit the fob, that little beep would stick on and stay on too. un plugged the horn for a day, so i could drive it lol that night plugged it back in, worked fine. ok thats odd.

next morning it dont work at all. that was two days ago, today i found the fuse blown, key fob would beep, but not the horn in the airbag, so took the airbag off, its connections were clean so i took it inside to see if i could get the cover off it, cause its painted and clean, and my spare is a sticky mess, well the horn is in the cover part, it dont come out and its pads were cracked. cleaned up the spare one best i could, installed it and beep beep like normal again.

now to order more SEM paint to clean this pos bag up. may as well touch up the wheel too, its like 2 years since i painted it and i just found a few cracks on the top back side.

lesson here,,,,,dont hammer on your horn like a drunk monkey. i know i broke it from using it aggressively lol

I thought I had the GP sold. Kid emailed me earlier this week about it. We exchanged a few emails working out a price and he seemed happy. He said he was selling his car Friday and would be up this weekend, or sometime next week to get it. He called me Friday to verify details and said he had to finish the deal on his car sale on Saturday and he would be here Saturday or Sunday.

Midday yesterday I texted him asking if he had a timeline yet, and I got no response til this morning. Apparently his buyer backed out. He said he still wants mine, but has to work on getting the money together now. I let him know that it was nothing personal, but if someone else comes along with cash in hand first that it will be sold to them.

Being all that happened I went ahead and picked up some for sale signs to throw it the windows. I had printed some signs up a few nights ago, but you couldn't see them through the window tint. LOL I wrote up the basics on the signs and stuck them on the outside of the windows. Neighbor up the road saw me outside and stopped and asked about it. I know he don't have the money and I am pretty sure he doesn't have the mechanical knowledge to swap the trans, but hey if he does have the money and he comes to me with cash in hand it can go bye bye to him.

I did my first oil change on my Lancer. Was pretty much cake work, other than someone grossly over-tightening the drain plug on the last oil change. I had to get serious leverage and it kinda "popped" when it broke free. I was afraid that I was going to have issues with the filter but it actually broke free relatively easy, so that was a relief. I was going to go ahead and rotate the tires, but I realized I don't have any free jackstands, all 4 are under the Stealth.

And before anyone says it, yes that means I changed the oil without jackstands under the car, but I took other precautions in case of a jack failure.

After that I did a "bad" thing. I mowed the yard for the first time this season. Ugh, here's to 26 weeks more of mowing.

i never use jack stands to rotate tires, two jacks and one side is up, then switch them front to rear.

I was going to go X pattern on this rotation. I need to get more stands anyway, but the thing there is once I get the Stealth on the ground I am going to have 4 sets of stands. LOL

i stopped the X bs a long time ago when a tire's cords unwound, was told it can happen from running the tires the opposite way , then back the other over and over. since then, front to back, keeping each tire rotating the same way from day one.

Today I had to get out and look to see if the GTP headlights were on. Man they are useless. I'm flyin blind with one fog lamp out. Took the loud car out for a nice ride today. Twice, once in the rain for fishtails. Been uber-sick and its amazing how that car just makes me feel better. Not sure how that works but it do.
All Grand Prix, all the time. 69 Model J, 99 GT & GTP coupes. All junk, haha.

Two jacks and one side is up? You can sometimes get 3 tires off the ground with one jack lol
