Oh come on.... one day when my hands are cold I can put then on the throttle body to warm them. You'll be the sad guy with cold hands. Lol

It seems the later l36's are less prone to the uim failure. I've done like 3 uims for this failure, they were on l36's from the 90s every time. They did change the size of the stove pipe.

The aluminum UIM fixed that problem permanently. Lol

And I have a very good heater, just about the only thing on this car that works well. Lol

Just read MAP kpa, it's easier.

I tried to make a boost pid in HPT but just gave up because I am lazy and didn't care. 0-100kpa means nothing and anything from 100+ is boost. So 155kpa is like 8 psi of boost.

Ah see the heat is not great in my 02. No recirculation button doesn't help.

The only issues I have ever had with my climate control is the durability of the paint on those damn buttons. Lol

EGR lowers your combustion temperatures, which prolongs the life of your valves, mainly the exhaust valves. It also gains 1-2 HWY MPG. There's no negative effects when EGR is functioning properly.

Other than the nasty gunk it leaves in your intake? lol

That's from PCV. The little bit of carbon from the EGR shouldn't have any impact on anything. Remember, it's exhaust. How much gunk is in your exhaust?

apparently ALOT, at least in mine. lol

my intake manifold was coated in a thick, black, gritty layer of gunk, took a wire brush to get it out.

That majority, if not all of that is from PCV. That's why throttle bodies get coated in that crap, too. The way I think about it is that EGR is after the TB, so if it was the cause, then TB would be clean.

The front half of mine was pretty clean...

IDK. Maybe it was neglect by the PO not changing the oil...ever. lol

Regardless, it's clean now and I feel better.

But the egr is directly next to the tb. Idk, never thought about the pcv, it's integrated into the plenum and I'm not sure where it vents. But the egr vents right at the entrance of the plenum so that was the likely culprit. And exhaust is dirtier before the cats(well, cat), not a whole lot at cruise.

The PCV is vented right before the TB blade (in between the MAF and TB blade). I've gone through this on my truck by putting a catch can on the PCV valve line while leaving EGR stock. The intake still turned a little black, but NOTHING like before, no sludge or anything, it was just a little black.

I eliminated the EGR on my Stealth. My MPG's went UP, and my intake manifold stayed beautifully clean.

Modern cars don't have an egr system. It's integrated into the vvt system. That not suck? Lol

Even more new and sucky for people who like to mod. Anything with hot oil touching the intake manifold sucks too.
