I found a guy parting out a pre-production 04 GTP. It has the door badges and the trunk badge. Assuming he knows the rarity of the badges, what might be a reasonable offer for them?

I'd ask him what he wants for them. Maybe play stupid if he asks why you want them and say the PO debaded your car and you want it to look factory again.

    Same here.

Is there a part number on those? I only ask because I've never seen those badges before and I'm thinking they're custom made

AFAIK there is no part numbers. These came out on the earliest 04+ Grand Prixs, they're OEM, here's some brochure scans from GPONA. I'm gonna see what I can do, hopefully I'll be able to get a deal out of them.

These pre-productions are believed to have the door badges, the different trunk badge (in a different location), silver calipers, sometimes a shifter saying TACshift rather than TAPshift, and sometimes have a red painted engine cover.

A few things.. I see them being hard as hell to take off without destroying them. Not sure on value because they never just pop up for sale.. Cars also not a preproduction so personally I wouldn't just slap them on your car. I would just stick with the better looking non autozone looking comp g badges and continue on trying to find a set even though I know they are discontinued.

Yea I know that trick. I have some doubt on 10+ year old badges still looking good and coming off easy enough then going back on another car.

Nice find, I'd definetly grab them just for the fact I've never seen them in anything but the brochure. Think they would look great on the polo green aswell.
AS mentioned above take care getting them off, fishing line and a heat gun/hair dryer.
