My good old 2002 GP dash padding is lifting evenly side to side above the instrument cluster area. It looks like it is the padding lifting up and away from the plastic trim that runs just below it. I had this plastic trim off years ago and put it back properly ,that was about 7 years ago. The dash padding just starting lifting in the last month or so.
What you now see is that the paddings edge is above the plastic trim and there is a small space between the dash padding & plastic trim now, again right above the instrument cluster area only.
Any ideas / thoughts on how to . . . stop it from lifting and make it drop again to where it belongs ?

    Swap in a non-shrunken dashpad.

Other than that I used gorilla glue and stretched the edge back over the plastic to cover it back up. Not perfect but looks better than it was. I lightly clamped it the length of the instrument cluster and let it sit for a full day to dry. Can't remember if there was foam under the dash top but if there is then remove it before gluing.

Another reason why I throw a sunshade on the dash during the summer. I don't pin it to the glass I just lay it over the dash top and cover the steering wheel as well. Seems to have slowed it. I do this in my other cars and both of those have no issues.
