Hey guys, I recently got an aftermarket stereo for my 99 GTP Coupe. And ever since ive installed it, its had nothing but problems. Not with the stereo, that works perfectly, but with the bezel that goes around it.

When i first installed it, the bezel broke and i had a huge panel gap where the Traction control button was. but just today i got it professional redone at a reputable stereo shop (New dash install kit) and i got a new bezel from a parts car for it. After it was done i was amazed.. UNTIL i noticed another panel gap beside the ac controls... However its small enough that i maybe haven't realized that it was like that before the stereo was ever in there.

Does anybody else have this in their 97-99 GPs? If not what could be the problem and how can i resolve it. Here are some pics:

Both my 99s had an adapter like this in place when I got them. I like the looks of yours a whole lot better!

With all the plastic in automobiles these days, once the parts have been removed, or upon removal, clips get bent, plastic parts break, rubber bumpers get lost, and the parts never fit the same again upon re-installation, the more times a piece of plastic interior trim has been removed, the worse the fitment gets has been my experience. Your trim around the a/c controls does not look that bad, actually it is normal, especially for the age of the car.

Thing is, im a perfectionist when it comes to my car. so when i got a new bezel for it, i made sure that not clips were broken or missing compared to my old bezel. but like i said, im a perfectionist so i dont want any noticeable panel gaps that i can see. im really tempted to put the factory delco back in just because of this little panel gap, but honestly i dont want to do that. I paid big bucks for this so im probably gonna go back to the shop and ask what he can do. Thanks for the response, i appreciate it!

It's just age, like Quicksilver said. I think it looks fine, but I'm more of a realist, not so much a perfectionist. Your more than likely just gonna piss off the installer if you take it back.

Looks good to me. I do not remember if there was any gap on mine when I installed a aftermarket radio. Looked fine that I remember. Not sure I see any real gap there looks like the curvature of the plastic makes it look like that.

Well i soon found doubt its the bezel i picked off a parts car. its a little warped, even the stereo guy said that it doesn't go all the way in the dash in some spots due to the amount of warping.
