My 05 is overheating lately. It has been really hot here lately so I didn’t think much of it. The temp gauge would get to the red line but never get into the red until tonight. I’m thinking thermostat?

    Maybe.

It's a $10 part so changing it is simple. Bleed all the air out and see what happens.

If it continues then you have a coolant flow problem, be it the pump or a clogged radiator.

Turns out it was both clogged and thermostat. Thanks GM!
