Need some help here... 2005 GTP that's making a grinding or vibrating noise when at low speeds. It's almost like I'm driving on a grooved road.

I thought at first it might be the brakes, or a slider pin sticking. I replaced all four brakes and rotors, lubed up the pins really well, and the noise is still there. And it does seem to get worse or more profound when I turn left or right at low speeds. Once I get above 40/45 I don't hear it anymore. The outer tierods were replaced about a year ago. The only other thing that I can think of is the wheel bearing, and I will do the 12 and 6 test when I get home today.

Any other ideas come to mind before I start replacing everything?

This car is not my daily driver, and can sit for a week, but I at least try to drive it once a week to work.

    TIA
    Jeff

a lot of people say it can be the brake dust shield rubbing but a crazy thing that happened to me was the actual brake pad shims were grinding with the outside of the rotor (the part that rusts with the cooling pocket in the middle) so I had to grind all the rust off them and kinda bend the shims out of the way free and easy fix (assuming you have the tools already) this was with relatively new rotors and pads

Thanks. When I have it jacked up tonight and on the stands, i'll throw it in neutral and spin the tires and see if there's anything catching.

could be but my issue was also a tad more profound when turning but it was more profound when turning both ways if turning only one way makes the noise worse could be a wheel bearing that's how I just diagnosed my bad bearing a few months ago

although when I did have a bad wheel bearing that sounded like I was on a grooved road it definitely didn't stop at 45mph that's when it turned from grooved road to JET ENGINE lol so may not be the case for you but still possible maybe its just not as bad as mine was yet

Well, I got zero play in the tires after I jacked it up, so I'm not sure if it's the wheel bearings or not. However, I did see that there was a huge gap in one of the sway bar bushings, and one of the sway bar links was loose...Fixing those solved my clunking issue, but I still have the rough road sound going on.

my wheel bearing didn't have play last two times I replaced them I did have a wheel bearing with play when I bought the car but im just thinking it was way past bad knowing the previous owner im surprised the thing didn't pop on me on the way home from buying it. maybe try jacking it up in front and putting it in drive and bringing it up to speed that's how I diagnosed a bad wheel bearing on my dads car just make sure the car is secured lol

One thing I did notice when I was replacing the sway bar bushing....The boot on the inner tierod was dripping water. I'm sure that's not a good sign either.

my inner tie rod had a hole I could fit my fist into for well over a year and it showed no signs could've even been 2 years for all I know haha ended up replacing the inner and outer tie rod when the outer was going bad but the inner boot never showed symptoms surprisingly I don't have small hands either lol

Well, 4 sets of brakes and rotors, sway bar link, sway bar bushing, and 2 wheel hubs later all is good. Drives like new now. Thanks for all the suggestions.
