Best Exhaust for an 06' N/A GP

Ever since I got the car, I've always wanted to change the exhaust or do something to get good grunt and sound out of it, every morning when I go to work, there's this one straight road that always makes me want to send the car and everytime I do, I get disappointed because I get the seat back push, but no sound and that's what I want to change, I want to hear the car, when I give it gas but when I'm in normal cruising situations like wanting to be chill, I would like it to be quiet when I'm not on it.

I've come to the conclusion, that I want to do a Muffler Change, and the only brand, I have come across that makes me want to pull the trigger, is Flowmaster, but I haven't seen anyone get to One conclusion of which muffler is the best for both situations in the Grand Prix. When investigating all their lineup, I've narrowed my search to 2 of their products either a 50 Series Delta Flow or a 80 Cross Flow and since my car is a Single Exhaust Model I want to convert it to be Dual exhaust, but that's not to difficult, I imagine, if it's a problem, anyone is happy, to correct me.

I just want to know from someone else's experience, which of those 2 is best for what I want, or is there anything better in their lineup or in other exhaust brands for my car.

It has nothing done to it, it's Completely Stock, just want to get some good noise out of it.

If a Res Delete or Res change is a good fit with the Muffler change, to do it, Please let me know.

thats a waste of money really. in a few weeks to a month you'll wish you never touched it i bet. (unless your 17 and dont care how bad it really sounds, just want loud) you wont find that v8 sound, only the horrid sounds of a wet fart.

only thing that sounds ok is borlas, so if you want to dive into the wallet hard. thats your best choice really.

The factory engineers have already done the work that you dont notice, that is why you think you want more sound, the 3800 is a V6 that should just be left unheard, rather than painfully heard.
I had the GMPP (GM PERFORMANCE PARTS) stainless exhaust system once, took it off in less than one weeks time and put the stock pipes and mufflers back on because of drone @1800-2200 RPM (cruise RPM!)
the only thing of the GMPP I kept in place was the resonator. Yea it sounded good at all other RPM ranges, but listening to drone going down the interstate gets boring real quick!

As already said, keep it stock, but if you want noise, go Borla. The Borla's are nice, but as a guy that used to like loud exhaust, but 4 years later I wish I had stock exhaust. You will want to keep the resonator of else the drone will make you jump off a cliff.

Borla or leave it alone. Do everyone a favor no FLowmaster. Just my opinion. I drive 07 na and have done the dual exhaust. I love mine but like every one said definitely leave factory resonator or put the biggest glass pack you can put in there. Or deal with a lot of drone that will drive you nuts.

I got the SLP powerflo catback many years ago from a fellow member on a different GP board. I installed it with '04+ SPO tips. It sounded good, but did have a bit of drone in O/D on the highway. A couple years ago I added in an SLP Loudmouth II as a resonator to tone it down before my daughter was born which made it sound perfect and have almost no drone. I also have headers so idk how much of a difference that makes.

IMO if you want some sound without being obnoxious or touching anything else I would go with a turbo style muffler like from summit racing or dynomax and leave some kind of resonator in.

What about regular exhaust? It sounds like I should be careful with any kind I choose. Mine is Swiss cheese, and I was quoted $200+ for one muffler at one shop. Now it looks like I need both. I'm contemplating going to a scrap yard and cutting off before the Y, and just having them do one weld. Should be reasonable, right? I don't believe I should invest too much into this. It has quite a bit of rust, and I'd hate to have something happen down the road and regret spending the money.

Should I look at getting all the exhaust I can? From the videos, it looks like there's a bolting flange, and I may be able to do it myself without welding, if I can get it in one piece.
