So I finally got this code which surprises me that my front o2 has lasted this long since it got pretty damaged durning my headers install. I had to bang the crap outta my firewall to get the sensor to fit but damaged it in the progress...my question is has anyone tried running a 90 deg extension on the upstream o2 bung to keep the sensor pointed in another direction so it stays more protected or will it cause the sensor to not read properly? Id like to use one but if its gonna get bad readings then I guess I wont....has anyone tried doing this?....

I don't think you want to do that. The reason for it in the rear is so that it doesn't heat up as much and cause the cel. The front you want to have a good flow of air to get a good reading of your air/fuel mixture.

Take the old one out, bang the firewall a little more, but cover the o2 hole while you do it so nothing gets in there. If you have enough room to get the o2 in and out properly then you'll have enough room for it not to hit the firewall.

I figured so. I see on zzp site the denso o2 looks to be a bit smaller but I dot wanna pay over 50$ for it. I found a denso sensor on ebay for 27$ and another smaller lookin one for about 17$. Has anyone bout an o2 from ebay and had any luck? I figure I I run a shorter sensor I wont have to make any more room on the firewall....

Make sure they work for your car not all o2 sensors are the same

I bought the denso sensor off of ebay. Basicly the same exact design as the one from zzps site just a lil cheaper. Same plug harness, same style sensor.

So funny how ridiculous things are sometimes I thought I bought the right o2 sensor but instead of the 97-03 upstream sensor it is for the 04^ upstream. Now its the same square plug bit instead of only having one tab on the plug it has one on each side. Now I'm really not looking forward to sending back because its literally the same sensor it just has a different plug on it so couldn't I just theoretically cut my old plug off and attach it to the new sensor so it fits in my o2 extension properly so I dont have to send back? I dont care about cuttin wires and using some connectors to reattach that's no big deal

Does anyone have the wiring diagram between these 2 sensors? They are the same 4 wire but i just wanna make sure when I wire up the old plug to the new harness I get it right

So I just decided to just return the sensor and make sure I got the correct one this time. Still went with the Denso sensor which seemed to be a well built sensor anyways. Also installed extension in post o2 since I haven't had codes deleted during my base tune. Seems to do the job instead of having to buy an expensive emulator. I also got a chance to check out my upstream and see why I had a problem and it looks like one of the wires were bare and prob caused a short or ground out. I pulled the old sensor off and since I have to wait, I taped and cleaned up the wires and reinstalled for now. Been keeping a close eye on my o2 voltage and fuel trims and besides the fact that I'm running a bit rich it isn't too bad. Will keep a close eye on it u till I'm able to install the new sensor..
