I have an 04 GTP donor car so Blower/Fuel Rails/LIM/Cylinder Heads and also an upgraded rebuilt transmission etc.

    Question #

    1. What all do I specifically need to swap out my series 2 for this series 3? Pics would be lovely

    2. Transmission's are the same right,4T65E-HD? (My 04 GTP is Not A CompG btw)

My memory is fading on 3800 stuff so forgive me and listen to others.

Trans is different, but import the 04 file and you should be all set. (04 regal file with L67 should do the trick). You'll need a tb adapter to use the newer sc with the 00 tb. Yeah.. as I think about it.. the trans should work and the engine only needs your rear exhaust manifold and a tb adapter, then you'll be right back where you were.

Otherwise you'd still have to do the trans stuff and then you could swap the LIM and SC/tb on to have the same basic engine.

Those are the ways I'd do it.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

bills drunk again, see his sig lol

that tranny will not work in anything but a 04 up.

you need to use your old fuel rail cause its got a return line, you need an adapter plate for a gen 5 to l67 tb. or you can go plate to a N*.

Lol too funny! Bill is that much off huh? I was hoping to switch every into a Buick Regal GS but it seem's that my 4T65E-HD wont work in it. Hhmm [emoji848], so my trans will only work in a Pontiac Grand Prix 04-Up?

May be helpful. Now that I think about it:

My 4T65E-HD is non paddle shift and is not a CompG. If that will change anything.

its the trans in general, its to new, electronically it wont work. the comp g tanny only works in a comp g grand prix.

how bad off is the parts car? maybe fix that up and drive it?

Bill isn't that far off, you guys just didn't understand what I said.

I said.. Snag a 2004 regal bin and use it. That should work the trans just fine with one exception, the PNP switch being internal vs external. Easy enough to wire that into the main trans connector or chose to use the external. (Some dickhead did a writeup on that back when lol).

Engine wise an 04 from a Giant Pile will be an L32. Rear exhaust manifold, TB adapter, and swap the connectors on the map sensors. (Wire color is even the same, so it's an easy cut/solder job)

Oh..and while it's out, I'd automatically put on the aluminum oil pan and motor mount.

Wasn't even drinking ... geeeeeeeez you guys lol

Always attach the rear knock sensor extension wire before dropping that into the bay BTW.. Much easier to reach over and snag it than plugging it in once the engine and trans are close together.
