I was having an issue where my car would randomly stall when I applied the turn signal. After a week or so the car became difficult to start. Finally, the car would cycle all of the relays when you turned the key to run; all of the lights would flash, fuel pump would prime and general craziness ensued. Long story short, it's the ignition switch. I had a hard time finding an answer for this on any of the forums and thought that I'd throw it up on here to help out anyone else who experiences the same problem.

FYI, changing the switch is really easier. The only thing that may complicate the install for anyone is that the switch is held in with two torx E4 bolts. Napa was the only place that I found that carries the sockets for them. Ultimately, I just used a a pair of needle nose pliers to turn the bolts out.

I know this post is old but anyone else having this problem id be glad to help. Anyways, whats happening is that when you used the signal light there was a bad ground. so enough to make the car stall, and we all know things only get worse if not attended too. My old car did the exact same thing, what i had to do was pull up the rug on both sides of the car along the bottom of the door. All the wires and needing grounds are grounded on a bus bar down there. When you pull back the rug youll see them, The bus bar needs to be replaced due to corroded grounds and some ground wires may need to be replace as well. It took me quite awhile to find the problem. Thing is, it slowly got worse, until one day it just didnot want to start.
Hope this helps to anyone... i dunno why they decided to run the grounds were they get wet.

Hey SE Level member, I am having the same problem with my 97 buick regal ls. I have trouble getting the car to start and when I do the gauges go crazy. I will be going down the road and use the turn signal the car will stall out. The other day I went to wal mart and went to leave took me a few times to get it started when i did wouldnt go into drive. After a few times I got it into drive havent drove it since. But went into the garage today and messed with it and everything worked good started up fine and went into gear fine tryed it a dozen times and everything went perfect until i used the turn signals when i turned it to the left the gauges went crazy, lights dimmed and couldnt put the car in drive so switched it to the right side and it killed the car instantly. I really hope you can help me with this problem I have been on here for weeks with no luck and stumbled across this and sounds alot like what I am going through.
