I am thinking about lowering my Regal and looking for advice on this combo and particularly anything else I should "refresh" when lowering. I daily drive it so I'm not looking for a crazy drop, just something to clean up the gap with 18's. I guess you could say I picked out these two items from the sticky posts' and prior posts stating this was a common component, at least KYB struts.. If not, please steer me in another direction for either. Coil overs seem to be just a bit too much (new) to justify doing, and I've seen mentions of cheaper routes to get the same result.

    Thanks

Please no hate on the wheels, they were ran in the winter from the previous owner so I sanded down the corrosion and plasti dipped them.

Buy Matts SSCs and get some GR2s.
You may as well put some new mounts in and get some Vinnie spacers.

Vogtlands are another spring that lowers about an inch. They work great for daily driver.

    Dan,

Can you chime in with how many miles you roughly have on your setup? About to pull the trigger on struts but found some mixed reviews about it as to be expected, the issue I'm seeing is that AGX's aren't worth the extra money, but GR2/Excel's aren't necessarily for a lowered setup. Just looking for some reassurance if anything. Thanks!

This is my brothers car on Vogtlands. He originally lowered the car with KYB's from this thread.

    http://www.grandprixforums.net/threa...-with-KYB-tech

They lasted awhile and he is now on AGX's that ride better. He daily drives his.

    This one is more recent.

I'm on ssc springs and gr2s, it's definitely not a bad ride. But if I could do it over, I'd go for agx adjustables. The gr2s do not dampen enough compared to the spring rate and you will get a little bounce. It's not horrible, but if you have the cash, get the adjustables.

Thanks goldgp, that definitely helps. I have SSC's awaiting my strut decision, so I was looking for a similar setup but I wanted to justify the extra $200+ or so. Honestly, it was a last minute search that made me wary since the next argument ends up being "go coilover"
