I've seen black zinc-plated rotors advertised that fit the GXP. I don't think I've ever seen a car with these installed, but I believe they would look cool as ****. Would they stay black over time, or will the zinc wear away? If it does, would that be a reliable indicator that the rotor needs to be replaced, or would it just be a surface thing, just as if they were painted, and just as useless?

the black wears off where the pads touch, the rest stays black and keeps it from rusting.

The Buick Allure with the 5.3 runs the same size brake rotors as the GXP but they are just not drilled. Those should come with the black coating if I remember right.

Double check the parts for measurements if that is something you are considering. I'd prefer the non drilled rotors myself.

Might depend brand. I had R1 Concepts off ebay black. They did get zinc corrosion after just a tiny amount of road treatment residue from winter. I wiped if off, cleaned em with brake cleen and was good to go. They weren't like.. Jet Black anymore, but they looked alright.

There's pics in my ride thread, but I forget which page. Lol
