Hey everyone been having a thumping noise thats been getting louder each day it is consistent with the speed of the car and starts happening at aboit 30 mph and the faster you go the faster the thumping at first I thought it was my tires since the fronts were pretty worn but just had the backs rotated to the front and new tires put on the back and the noise is still there also seems to get much quieter if I'm on the brakes
Also did a the left front wheel bearing 3 years ago right CV shaft 2 years ago and the right wheel bearing a year ago. Could this be brakes related or did I get stuck with some ****ty wheel bearings am I still good to drive home on this im at work now about 25 miles from home anything would help tried searching but everything said the wheels and tires are to blame

for future refrence this turned out to be a bad right front bearing how I diagnoised it I took a couple hard turns at 30 mph+ and noticed when I turned left it made more noise and turning right reduced the noise a lot so at that point I knew it had to either be the cv joint or hub on the right side the cv joint was replaced by a reputable mechanic around 2 years ago and didn't have any tears and no play into the knuckle minimal play in the trans. so I changed the hub bearing picked up an oem one on craigslist unopened box for $30 less than rock auto and threw it on and the thumping is gone. august 2018 less than 8 months ago I changed the bearing with a Detroit axle and it already went bad wtf. learn from my mistakes buy oem when it comes to hubs guy I bought it from said his son made the same mistake I did and his only lasted 10 months. ive also had to deal with a cheap pump for the past couple months that was causing problems only months after install so learn from me and never cheap out on something your car needs to run. I never will again, I may get a cheap radio or speakers or something along that line but something that is an emergency when it goes bad ill never do it again.

As much as I agree with you, it doesn't always work out for the better. Here is my history of replacing the front wheel bearings on my car......

September 2011: replace left front bearing (SKF)
September 2011: replace right front bearing (SKF)
April 2014: replace left front bearing (SKF)
February 2015: replace right front bearing (Delco)
March 2016: replace right front bearing (Delco)
May 2017: replace right front bearing (Delco)
May 2017: repalce left front bearing (Delco)

I switched to the Delco's as the have a 5 year warranty up here, rather than the 3 year for the SKF's. Looks like my last batch of Delco's are hangin' in there. <knock on wood>

My opinion is the bearings aren't sized properly for the vehicle and these w bodies can go through bearings. It's just part of having one.. you might be doing bearings often.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

well just figured out my dads bearing that I changed less than a year ago is also bad and on that car you need to press the bearing out and in with a press or pay $400 for the whole assembly so that sucks especially since he barely drives the thing I at least probably got 20k to 30k miles on that bearing my dad probably only got like 5k on his and it was a national I got from oriellys seems to be under warranty but I still have to waste time and pay a shop $40 to press the bearing out and install the new one. and now I don't know how the warranty will work ill have to go to the shop pay them to remove it. go to oriellys swap it for a new one and go back to the shop pay them to install it and its all unnecessary lol. what do you guys think do I just bite the $32 I paid for the national and get a different brand or deal with this warrenty crap
