Can the same rear trailing arms, lateral arms, and sway bars from the 97-03 grand prix be used on
the 2004+ grand prix? Also can the f-body front brake upgrade be used on the 2004+ grand prix? How about the front sway bar on the
    2004+ grand prix.
    Thanks everyone.

I don't think there's an issue with the brakes, the sway bar is different but you'd have to look on the control arms to see if it has the provisions for the end links but I don't think it does. The rear brakes are completely different due to the e brake. I'm sure someone more versed will chime in!

everything is interchangeable except the sway bar. 97-03 lower control arms are needed to run any larger or aftermarket sway bar. Make sure you pick up the end-links too. You dont have to switch struts. Struts for 04-08 will fit of course, and once you have the 97-03 lower control arms, any strut for 97-03 will work as well. My set up consist of 97-03 control arms with moog bushings, gmpp sway bar with poly moog endlinks and bushings, bilstein struts, and canuck springs. All on an 05'.

I also have a 2004 GTP and I am looking into changing the anti-sway bars and end-links. I have read the info that says the '04 and '05 cars need '03 lower control arms for sway bar upgrades, but I have not seen any pictures showing both an '03 and '04 version LCA for comparison or an explanation of how or why they are different. If anyone has pictures or more details to offer, it would be greatly appreciated. I specifically bought my GTP as a flip and I want to make sure I get the suspension correct to show off it's best potential. Thanks.

I went through this when refreshing the suspension on mine, the 04+ struts have a tab on the side to mount the tiny 04+ sway bar's end links.. The 97-03 style sway bar has end links that go directly to tabs on the 97-03 LCAs.

However, some point after 05 they did go back to the older 97-03 style sway and LCAs for the GXP.

Now, you can order police Impala LCAs that have the same sway bar mounting tab as the 97-03 GPs, and Dorman makes a 33mm solid front sway, P/N 927100 IIRC.

For the rear, there's a slight difference between 97-03 and 04+, the major one being that the 97-03 lateral control arms are shorter than the 04+. In the 04+ they mount slightly closer together in the rear subframe, so the design looks almost identical between the years but it is actually different. The rear sway didn't change, and if you're serious about handling, get an ADDCO rear sway. 22mm solid rear sway is P/N 639, it'll be expensive and take months to actually ship, but it's totally worth it IMO. Or you could get the GMPP rear sway, 18mm, but cheaper and easier to find.

As a comparison, stock the 04 sway bars are 20mm front and 15mm rear, and both hollow. I like solid because it's less likely to rust through at the ends.

If you have any other questions, I suggest :: Overkill Motorsports :: and looking through the w-body tech page. Lots of good info there.

Dorman 927-100 is the biggest solid bar still made. You might want poly bushings for it like those from energy suspension, etc. Dorman's site has the exact diameter, but I wanna say it's 33mm.

I'll post links because pics are still a PIA and I'm in the middle of something. I hope I'm understanding the question. You want to run the dorman bar on an 04/05, correct?

Rockauto's list has both with and without the tab you need to run the "older" style bar. Here's the whole page - 2005 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX 3.8L V6 Supercharged Control Arm | RockAuto

Here's one with the tab - More Information for MOOG RK620676

One without - More Information for MEVOTECH CMS501061

You'll need the shorter links from a 97-03. I'd also suggest poly if they're available (I haven't looked). You don't have to use the part numbers above. They are just examples of how they look.

The bolts are different, The F-body brakes use a 12mm bolt, while ours use a 14mm bolt. Your best bet is to modify the caliper brackets to use the 14mm bolts, it's easier than getting an insert for the caliper mounting holes in the knuckle.

You'll also need to get 12" rotors for them to work properly.
